Yay for the Kentrosaurus. I like it. Meh for the rest really.
Schleich is shuffling slowly forwards in the quality and desirability of their models omho.
To kill an error is as good a service as, and sometimes even better than, the establishing of a new truth or fact.

considering the quality control standards of schleich, I'd definitely recommend waiting until you see them in person before buying any

Concavenator

Wasn't there a study that said there couldn't be blue, green or pink fur un pterosaurs? Then, that'd make that Anhanguera sort of inaccurate.

stargatedalek

pterosaurs didn't have fur

I don't recall and such study, and its not like archosaurs lacked colour vision
(the reason why most large animals today are dull coloured is because mammals don't have great colour vision)

Turret

This is indeed an improvement from schleich we have here. I'll get both the Kentrosaurus and the pterosaur, pass on the mini dinos. Speaking of the mini dinos, will these come in some kind of package/toob/thing or will they be part of the small dinos line?

In Everything Dinosaurs said this will be the replacement of mini dinosaurs.

Is it just me or does the mini Ankylosaurus look extremely similar to Papo's Ankylosaurus?

Yeah the gesture is almost the same..

I think I'm in the same camp as everyone else -- a bit in shock in a good way!

Definitely getting the Kentrosaurus. And as far as the Anhanguera, I'll wait till I see him in person. My Walmart has a Schleich display. I actually picked up their Carnotaurus a few weeks ago. In person, except for his clown feet, he doesn't look as cartoonish as in his catalog pic. So maybe the Anhanguera might be better in person too. I already like him better in his pic than the Carno's pic.

I'd also like to maybe pick up 2 or 3 of the Mini's. But I wonder if they'll come altogether in a tub like this year's Papo Mini's? BTW, the Mini Ankylosaurus could definitely be a youngster for Papo's! ;)

For what I understood, they are replacing the old minis, so you can buy them separately

Update: Everything Dinosaur also confirmed that the Anhanguera's jaw will move!

Movable jaw ? Awesome :o it skin pattern look like it is a high flyer creature :D

Takama

I think the reason Schelich gave it a moveable jaw is so kids can make it rip other models to shreds with its sharp teeth >:D.

sauroid

any pics of the Anhanguera with its mouth closed?

Meanwhile the colorscheme looks like the one by Bullyland.

And the Triceratops color looks like the Safari Sue Torosaurus.

The Spinosaurus looks a bit like the Predasaur Sumon.

And the green Theropod is clearly a genetical mix of something.

These generally look like they will be toob-sized...

And I read one interesting reaction on the STS forum to them:
QuoteI don't think these are Schleich - they already have a mini Dino series and they are nothing like these. These look fun but they haven't got the quality of Schleich.

A wise decision.

Edit: This confirms that the Mini dinosaurs will be sold separately, at the Green Pricepoint, therefore for 3,60 Euro a piece. So they are smaller than the old "Kleinen Dinos"

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend

The moving jaw on the Anhanguera just moved it from 'eh, maybe' to 'I MUST OWN THIS'. Moving jaws are so rare on pterosaur figures, and Anhanguera's got enough teeth to make it interesting.

Everything_Dinosaur

I know the picture of the Anhanguera with the articulated jaw has been posted up, don't know whether the link to the blog article that gives more information about the mini-dinosaurs (7 dinos 1 pterosaur) has been posted up yet, so here it is: Schleich Models Update

Schleich are going to be doing some interesting things in 2015, they remain heavily focused on the toys market rather than the more specialised models market in our view.  The article shows how the mini dinosaurs will be presented.  They have been designed to be offered in what is termed a point of purchase setting, sort of counter top sales at high street retailers etc.

Size of the minis vary but from our measurements they range from 3cm to 5.5cm

Article above also lists the set.

We will have them, we also intend to sell them individually.

More announcements from Schleich soon but currently still under an embargo.

You mean that there will be more dinos coming?
