From Everything Dinosaur's blog that Sim provided a link for:"...we are delighted to announce that a number of the Battat Terra replicas will be exclusive to Everything Dinosaur."
I'm hoping that means the eventual releases of Gastonia,Gigantoraptor,Europasaurus,Pentaceratops, and Nasutoceratops. ;D

And, the Yutyrannus, Plateosaurus and Majungasaurus... We can only hope the legacy continues and they will be finished by someone else.

Those will never come PaleoMatt. Dan could not finish them before he passed. And I doubt that Battat will ever get its hands on those unfinished prototypes.

I'm betting that that means the Cryolophosaurus and Nanshiungosaurus, which are gone from Target's web site and all the stores in my vicinity.

I hope that's what it means, but if it means other repaints or new dinos, the situation would flip from those in Europe not being able to get these dinos to Americans not being able to get them.  :o

Actually,Everything Dinosaur ships to us here in the States too,and in my experience very reasonably priced including shipping. ;D
So I'm happy that they will be carrying them. The more places they can be found the better. :)

Great news, I am happy these will be more widely available to more people!  :))

I do hope, however, that the exclusivity of some figures to Everything Dinosaur does not include new releases. I'll be very annoyed if a product that I am used to being able to find at a Target location that is 15 minutes away turns into something I now have to ship out from Europe. It just wouldn't make sense to flip the tables on us like that with some figures.

Really hoping this just refers to the Cryolophosaurus and Nanshiungosaurus.

No,only the Nanshiungosaurus is discontinued.Certain models disappearing from shelves means little. There are some Target stores that do not even carry the whole line it seems. The one nearest me had all four of the first wave. But as for further additions, that store has stocked the repaints of Amargasaurus,Carnotaurus and Acrocanthosaurus but never the Tyrannosaurus or Ceratosaurus. Also, the repaints of Euoplocephalus,Stegosaurus, and Parasaurolophus have never shown up there either...

No one knows. Battat has been less than forthcoming, sadly. :(

Here is what Battat is expected to release in 2015:

Terra:

Europasaurus

Gastonia

Gigantoraptor

Majungasaurus

Nasutoceratops

Pentaceratops

This thread is for discussion of the new Terras and eventually the Battat MOS reissues. Personally I'm pretty happy with this list and can't wait forward to seeing the new releases, especially given that both a prosauropod and sauropod are included. I wonder what the color schemes will be like or if they have been determined yet. For what it's worth, I always saw Majungasaurus as a low-slung ambush predator, stalking through tall ferns/grasses. A green or yellowish coloration on that one would be a nice touch.

This was brought up just now in a private conversation. I think it's worth seeing what was never to come, once again.

Gwangi

It just kills me to see that Nasuto and Penta that'll probably never be released.

The Pentaceratops looks pretty nice. I'm a big fan of this ceratopsian, probably my favourite. Must get back the Schleich one.

Dilopho

I feel like we really missed out on that Gigantoraptor..........I've never seen another figure that displays the true oddness of the animal. I love the Battat's big eyes and how it's teeth..things. Are on full display.
But the way it's rearing up makes it seem quite threatening when it needs to be and gives an impression that it's not a completely ridiculous animal, but quite like modern day large birds.

Flaffy

I wish Battat would just sell those moulds...
What's the point in hoarding them?

Battat is quickly becoming one of my least favoured companies.

Jose S.M.

It's a real shame that those molds are probably forgotten on some storage place, all of them are worthy of release and could potentially big sellers. I would have loved to get Gigantoraptor, Gastonia and Pentaceratops. Same situation with the repaints, they have the ceratopsians, Utahraptor and Diplodocus that are almost guaranteed to sell good with the more general audience and the other ones are going to appeal to collectors.

Agreed, if they are not going to produce them ever, they could get money by selling them, they're not getting any profit from them now and I don't think any of those new species can be made into the cheap action toys they out out this year, but I don't see them selling what they are not producing at least while those toys and the  other figures that are still in production make profit.

Faelrin

Such a shame those beautiful models are probably never going to see the day of light. Those are absolutely beautiful.

The trouble is that all these figures made by Dans Lorusso were rare figures in the toy market.

The gigantoraptor would be an epic dinosaur. A gigantoraptor Battat would have been the no more, since it is a very rare figure in the toy market and apart from that I guess it would have been much larger than those of the companies Collecta or Capcom.

The Europasaurus Battat would have surpassed that of the Bullyland company by far.

The armored dinosaurs such as the pentaceratops, nasutoceratops and gastonia of Battat, apart from the rare ones mentioned above, would have made a fierce competition to those of other companies that would even have overcome them.

But you have to assume that unfortunately those figures will never be made. They were unfinished projects. Unfortunately those figures were canceled without remedy and I do not think that Battat deigns to make them as Dans would have wanted them.

Sincerely I have offered the dinosaurs articulated Battat current eBay sellers and do not interest me much, first for economic reasons and second because I do not seem articulate animals worthy to replace the work of this sculptor who left us several years ago.
