Those wings, man. These are going to be on Balaur now too, aren't they? I'm hyped to see that.
I think guess so. I kinda prefer Balaur at its current state (gives me more of an 'avian' vibe), but i wouldn't mind Zhen's wings on Balaur.  ^-^

Flaffy

Currently struggling between getting Balaur or Zhenyuanlong... They are just so beautiful!

Nanuqsaurus

Much better! :) Still, it's not really my favorite color scheme on this one. But I'm sure the fan's choice Zhen will look awesome!

While David's sculpting is really great, I have to admit I've always found the old Balaur primaries to be a weird shape for these flightless species.  I think the new Zhenyuanlong primaries and secondaries are much more plausible for Balaur, and more impressive looking.

That looks much better to me. Just need to see more angles. Just the Fan choice Raptors left. I'm dying to see S. Langstoni with it's head crest all painted up.  :)

Hehe, you mentioned Saurornitholestes langstoni, Chris, and David posts a photo of it:

And that looks like the Saurornitholestes head updated with lips!  Now the only one remaining to be seen properly is the Velociraptor head updated to have lips.  For those who started following recently, early on David was going to give most of the raptors lips and the remaining ones no lips.  A bit later on, this was discussed on the Kickstarter and David agreed with the majority that all the raptors should have lips (if they didn't have lips the teeth would be visible when the mouth is closed).  At that point, only the first five sculpts had been made and the only ones without lips were Velociraptor and Saurornitholestes.  Since then, all the other raptors David has made have lips and he adjusted the Velociraptor and Saurornitholestes heads to have lips.

I am delighted that this line exists ;D.
I am heart-broken however as I can only choose a limited number of figures :-[.
I envy the people who can purchase the entire line...  ;)

how much do they cost in totall?

$405 for 12 raptors, not counting repaints, another $120 for accessory packs, more for nestling sets, etc.

AWESOME!! It looks fantastic. I love the head crest and the running pose looks perfect too. This one will look perfect in the Road Runner colors.

I wonder how long it would take to review the entire Beasts of the Mesozoic line on the DTB  :))
Probably deserves its own spot on the front "company pages".

I absolutely love that kestrel Dromaeosaurus. I had a feeling I would when I saw the package art and the wip paint work for it. It also reminds me of the raptors from JP: TLW (which I have a soft spot for even if they are super inaccurate), due to the orange, white, and stripes. Definitely think I'll be getting this one now.

so when I go to the Kickstarter page and look at my pledge "invoice" page I only get the velociraptor listed but when I got the backerkit survey I added an accessory pack. Where does the pack show up? its not listed on the view your pledge page along side the raptor.

I'm not sure as I've only just started completing the Backerkit survey and haven't submitted it yet.  It sounds like it only lists your pledge tier (in this case Velociraptor) and add-ons (e.g. stretch goal raptors, accessory packs, etc.) are included in the total but not listed?  I know on the Backerkit survey before it's submitted, chosen add-ons are listed in a separate box to the pledge tier figure(s).  If you're still not sure, ask David, I imagine he'd be able to help!

^I dug through my old emails and found the ones for the backer-kit survey. I clicked the links for the preorder store and the accessory pack shows up there listed with my pledge raptor. Kinda weird it doesn't show up on the actual Kickstarter page invoice.

Think of it like store credit. For example you pledge for velociraptor $35 + $15 for shipping (or whatever it is...this is just an explanation) then you added on another $125 for whatever various items. Your total now is $175, when you go to the backerkit it will show you pledged for the Velociraptor tier + shipping which is a total of $50 and then you have the additional $125 to spend in the backerkit "store" and just select what you want by adding the items to your cart.

If all you want is what you were originally pledging for, then you'll break even with you remaining balance. If you decide you want additional items or different things from what you originally pledged for that end up costing more then it will ask you for a credit card to pay for the remaining balance. So if you added another raptor to your original $175 total, then you just have to pay the additional $35. It's really simple. If you change your mind after you make your choices and submitted the survey you can just go back and edit your selections. David is not finalizing the surveys until early Sept.

People keep waiting to do this and there is no reason to. If you like how a newly finished raptor looks you can just change your selections or add to it. No biggie. But once David "locks in" the Surveys in Sept, then no more changes can be made.

Hope this helps :)

I think it's great that David has gone back and improved parts for figures with existing prototypes.  I think the new Zhenyuanlong primaries being given to Balaur, and the new Zhenyuanlong secondaries being given to Balaur, Dromaeosaurus and Linheraptor improves all of those figures.

It's made me think about the Velociraptor's secondaries.  Velociraptor mongoliensis is the only species in this raptor series known to have quill knobs to attach the secondaries to the bone with ligaments. However, the Beasts of the Mesozoic Velociraptor appears to have the smallest secondary feathers parts! To me the Velociraptor figure's secondaries seem too short to need quill knobs to support them. Although it's the only one in this series known to have quill knobs, I don't think it needs to have the largest wings to be plausible, I just think having secondaries that aren't so small would be enough. I've mentioned this to David and asked him if it would be possible for the Velociraptor figure to have larger secondaries, and suggested the now-unused old Balaur secondaries which I think would be great for the Velociraptor! That would make its wing feather parts the same as what is seen on the Dromaeosaurus prototype in photos of it.  I asked David here (first comment): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/creativebeast/beasts-of-the-mesozoic-raptor-series-action-figure/comments?cursor=14246278#comment-14246277
