Good luck with that...hopefully you are not spending the mortgage money on toy dinosaurs? Consider settling down and having a family instead.

D @Derek.McManus If the answer is directed to me, it is true what it says but in my case if I collect dinosaurs it is the only vice I have and I honestly do not throw the money in any other fun or spending too much, I survive buying dinosaurs thanks to my Spartan life .

Edited by Bokisaurus: Shonisaurus sorry that I edited your post, but I felt it was too much personal information.
YOU don't have to feel shamed or feel that you have to justify your collecting habits to ANYONE.

Shonisaurus - Sorry that I edited your response. I am sorry that you felt that you had to share that much information in response to Derek's comment. It made me really sad.
I edited your comment since there was too much personal information that I felt was not necessary.
YOU don't have to feel like you need to justify your collecting habits to anyone, or that you feel shamed at all. Please, please, please don't every feel that way again. Be proud of your collection, be proud of your achievements in life, and most importantly , don't let hurtful comments like this pull you down, okay? It's not worth giving hurtful comment like that that much energy.
So please don't let Derek's insensitive comment dampen your spirits. You are a valued member here and I enjoy your enthusiasm and energy :)

B @Bokisaurus Thank you for your words Bokisaurus, in a way Derek is right in what he says and I do not blame him, but I must admit that it hurt. I've never traveled anywhere in the world, I've never done anything wrong, I do not drink, I do not smoke, I do not take drugs, is it a crime to collect dinosaurs, as long as it's just a hobby? I thank you for your words, I repeat again and I realize the good heart that many forum members have with me. I have to confess that although I am participating in the forum, I am going through a very painful stage in my life and I leave it there.

Thanks to all the DTF members for your comments and support. I love the collection of dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures apart from some movie monster (indominus, indoraptor or vastatosaurus). For me, all the members of the forum are a great family and I feel very comfortable on this web page.

BrontoScorpio

I think Derek's comment was needlessly offensive.
It was too blunt, inappropriate and out of place and was aimed at not the strongest person - as bullies usually do pick on the weaks.

Regardless, every once in a while we all need to keep in touch with reality and check that our dinosaur hobby doesn't turn to a collection spiralling out of control  or expenses going wild.

Sometimes I see such cases in this forum, and even though I keep any comment I might have to myself -
It got me thinking about myself - isn't that me also ? Am I not the same case ? Am I different than this guy ?

It puts miror to my face - that I don't always like what I see there.

so, I urge all you guys - I think we have the best hobby in the world, but, like every thing in life - don't over do it.  :)

I think your post is quite impolite (and totally OT).
What if a complete stranger makes comments on a public forum about your life?

I second that.

Thank you Robin and Suspsy, I appreciate it a lot.

@ Derek.McManus - When I first read you comment, I was not sure what to think of it or if it was directed to me or to Shonisaurus. The more I thought of it, the more I became angry, and it didn't matter who it was aimed at: It was hurtful.
I am not sure if this comment was supposed to be funny, I'm telling you it is no at all funny.
Your comment is very judgmental, hurtful, and very much aimed at shaming others about their collection and lifestyle. You have no right to make judgment like this. You don't know me or any of the other collectors here to make that kind of judgment or lifestyle suggestion.
You have not a single clue as to how things are going in our personal life, our struggles, and how we make a living, what we are going thought. NONE!

As collectors, we should be proud and happy to share with this community our collections and not be shamed and judged.
I have never judged anyone, let alone make a suggestion on how they should be living their life or how they spend their money. YOU don't have that right, you don't know me at all.

I hope that you will apologize to everyone else who was hurt by your comment.
I don't know if you had the chance to read Shonisaurus's response to your comment in it's entirety before I edited it. His response is very personal and very hurt, which made me really sad and angrier that you have caused someone this much pain.
I Edited Shoniosaurus's response since I felt that it had too much personal information that I felt was not necessary for everyone else to see, Information that clearly state how deeply hurt he is by your comment. I really hope you that you find it in you to send him a personal apology.

Boki

Amen to all that, good sir.

I'll never understand such individuals who join and participate in forums for dinosaur toy collectors, or LEGO collectors, or Transformers collectors, or train collectors, or any other kind of collectors, then turn around and insult others like that. It's like someone who pays to attend Comic Con and dresses up like a Jedi, then goes around insulting other attendees for wearing Starfleet uniforms. The proverbial pot calling the kettle black.

Frankly, this comment isn't much better than McManus'.

Do you know me personally? Or Bokisaurus? Or Shonisaurus? Or anyone else on this forum? Do you know our financial status? Our family status? Our social status?

No. You do not. It's not your place to help anyone "keep in touch with reality" or suggest that someone is allowing their hobby to "spiral out of control." Regardless of how good your intentions may be, you don't know that that is the case. It's not anyone's call to tell someone else how to enjoy their hobby. Just live and let live.

And just for the record, I think both Shonisaurus' enthusiasm and Bokisaurus' compassion are precisely what this forum needs more of.

Seeing your pics of the mosasaurus is convincing me to get it. Got the Ceratosaurus last night and it is magnificent. Also have the Amargasaurus coming too. Ordered the same day as the Ceratosaurus but not here yet. Go figure lol. Also loved your review on the Amargasaurus. Fantastic job!!!

I will send personal apologies to Mr Shonisaurus our discussion is between us unless they wish to reveal it. I think my life experiences and robust sense of humour are sometimes incompatible with this gentle and friendly corner of the Internet which I feel is very special so in general if you feel I have upset you I hope you feel ok now.

I am proud to have you as family and I support you in every possible way.

D @Derek.McManus  has told me that it was a simple joke there is nothing to talk about in my case I interpreted his words in a wrong way. Derek is a good man and a person who dresses by the feet. I have spoken with him and I can assure you that he is a person whose heroism in his life and manhood fills anyone with pride.

avatar_tanystropheus @tanystropheus  Thanks for your beautiful words, for me all the members of the forum are unforgettable people.

I sincerely understand that we must let B @Bokisaurus  keep publishing (when he wants his stuff in his thread) and we must stop talking about irrelevant things, in short, little things. Life is very short and hard to complicate life with minutiae. In any case, I apologize to the members of the forum for my pessimism, victimization and for making me tragic. For my part this controversy is over and above all we enjoy the privilege of collections like those of the esteemed Boki that are a privilege starting with the photos and comments of Boki (at least to me) that are a privilege for my eyes and that are very interesting . apart from attending a thread whose creator of this thread (Bokisaurus) is a constructive and kind person.

Honestly I always liked the amargasaurus with the agustinia for being some rare sauropods. What amazes me is how popular it has been in the collectibles market and the amargasaurus toy, my first amargasaurus was Safari and sincerely I have never tired of collecting figures of that peculiar and rare sauropod.

The sauropod of PNSO is perhaps for me the best modeling to date and the most scientific along with Carnegie's amargasaurus.

ITdactyl

There's really something to be said about the charisma of Amargasaurus eh, that nearly all manufacturers are trying to turn it into "the most beautiful dinosaur".*

*well, everyone except perhaps Papo and CollectA.  ;D

:)

They are actually saving and protecting him,  don't they?

Hahaha ^-^ Don't worry, the herd is just curious about learning all about his travels and the animals he met along the way. He is just overwhelmed by the attention ;D

Bokisaurus

Okay, as you all know, I'm not really a big fan of action figures >:D
I recently sold some artwork, so I had some extra dino fund ;D Although I never planned on getting any of the BoTM figures, I was presented with a great opportunity so I decided to at least try one.
If anything, at least I will have one sample to my collection, after all this line of action figures is very unique.

When I checked out all the available models, it was hard to choose which one to get. In the end, the bright colors and uniqueness of this one won me over.
Here she is, my very first BoTM figures, the beautiful Linheraptor exquisitus!
Its really a beautiful model and amazing work on the feathering and detailing, as well as the paint application. I have a few complaint, mostly about some issues that others have already pointed out like how some of the joints don't turn easily .
The rod for the stand it came with was also hard to use on this figure.

Overall, this is one beautiful and unique figure, I'm really glad I went with this species. I really love the bright colors, inspired but he African bee eater bird.
[

Oh, if you look closely at the second photo, you can see the ball inside the mouth on the base of the tongue, yes, it moves as well! ;D
My hope is that once I am done with the Safari Spino and CollectA Carno reviews that I may find time to review this figure for the blog.

Cheers!

I look forward to reading all of those reviews!

Haha, they are all in various stages of completion :))

Bokisaurus

Well, so I was able to sell off some of my artwork (yes, I'm also an artist), so what better way to spend part of it than on my favorite hobby ;D

So, the last batch of Safari 2019 just landed minus the Allosaurus ( still not available when I ordered, but that's okay, not really that excited about that figure >:D)
So what can I say, well, to be honest, it's a mix  bag for me ???

Let's start with the new stegosaurus. Beautiful sculpt and some nice details. The only thing that would have made it perfect for me is if it was given a more exciting colors than all brown tones. And I'm also not a big fan of how Safari is giving some of their figures that "fresh off stepping in mud" look on the feet, the paint application in these area really look sloppy. And I'm not sure why there is a faint lighter shade of brown that runs along the plates, As you can see in the photos, these color band looks like dust! Still a great figure, I really love the head sculpt on this one.
[]

Now the Classic pterosaur, the Pteranodon. This is my favorite of this group. Finally, a new pteranodon that has it all: Vibrant colors, beautiful sculpt, and landed pose and not the road kill flying pose.
I really like  the colors on this one. The only sad ting is that the head crest and bill came in warped due to not properly shipped and stored. I think this is going to be a common problem with this figure.
[]
With his new flock mates ;D

Up next is Camarasaurus. I was disappointed with this one to be honest. Maybe I'm not that familiar with the anatomy of this species, but it looks to me like some of the proportions are off visually. The legs looks too short and the head too big?
I honestly like the original version's look much better :-\ It is also slightly shorter than its predecessor.
[]
With it's predecessor and with the herd of all the new Safari
[]

And Finally, what you all have been waiting for >:D, the Swimming Spinosaurus. - Well there is a lot to say about this figure for sure. But since I am signed up to review it, I will hold off on many of those for the review ( hopefully will be finished soon). Overall, my impression of it haven't change seeing it in person. For my personal taste, it's really how the pose was executed that really brings this figure down. This is especially glaring when compared to the other two swimming spino from CollectA and Favorite (saving photo for the review). This is also one figure that really should have come with a base to make it read better as swimming.
[]
With an improvised base
[]
Compared to the deluxe CollectA for size comparison. It is slightly larger and bulkier, but overall almost similar in size and pose. Also, with its Carnegie predecessor.
[]
There will be more different photos in my official review of this figure, so stay tuned ;D

Well, there you have it, the last ones of the Safari 2019 lineup. Eventually, once I get a round to getting the Allo, a class portrait will be in order.
Thanks for looking, cheers! :))
