That Helicoprion is quite a little artifact! I've seen it on AliExpress, but I didn't order it because I had just bought the PNSO version. The textures remind me of UKRD dinosaurs from olden times.

And obviously it always makes me happy to see someone else enjoy the CollectA fish and inverts as much as I do.

It definitely is a time capsule! ;D I love it despite its outdated status, I'm pretty sure its not a knock off since there was never a figure of it in large form, ya?
The over texturing reminded me of PNSO's early meg model :)) I'm writing a review of it right now.

I think you're right. I definitely don't recognize the Helicoprion design from elsewhere, so I think it's an original. The only other large-ish figures were squishy bead-filled things. Looking forward to your review!

Oh my goodness, its been ages since I updated this neglected thread of mine! :-\ Funny how fast the days are going!
So many things interfered with life that I found it hard to do updates, but new models were trekking in at a steady pace the last few months.
Here are some that got added, mostly PNSO since they are my focus right now, but some interesting ones from other brands as well.
I think we all know who these characters are so no need to introductions. ;D
[]

The no-PNSO models :))
[]

Strong solid group of models. I like them all and its great to see that some of these displays well with my PNSO's.
Well, I have a few more in route so hopefully I can do another update soon. For now that's all ;D Thanks for checking, cheers! ^-^

Those were sure worth waiting for. BTW,  what was that unusual Penteceratops (quadrupedal) facing off against the upright Papo one, B @Bokisaurus ?

You can find it on Aliexpress as "unbranded" or "Oenux".
Just type a generic "Triceratops" on the searching bar and it will show up.
:)

Honestly, that pentaceratops is pretty good to be from an unknown company or unknown brand. Sometimes companies like I call pirates make pretty nice figures from the prehistoric world.

On the other hand the PNSO figures of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals are all out of place. I can't wait and since I'm tempted to buy the livyatan PNSO, I still make another additional purchase along with its tsintaosaurus counterpart, it's good that brands like PNSO, Safari or Collecta, to cite several examples, remember that we are collectors of dinosaur toys and not only from the "consumers of dinosaur toys" that is to say children who are in some cases the main beneficiaries. It is to be thankful.

S @SidB  yes, Robin is right. You see it often under various "labels". For sure it is heavily inspired by the Papo model but not exactly direct knock-off and was sculpted differently in how the details are rendered. Its a good model and would benefit from a repaint which I intend to to sometime ;D

Good idea - it will complement the Papo original beautifully with a new paint job.

Wow, quite a haul! I'm always tempted by that mysterious pterosaur, but I worry that as soon as I buy it I'll find out it's a knockoff. It's definitely a cool toy though.

I trust you'll be painting your blank GR Quetz? Can't wait to see the outcome.

Well, another late post of some new PNSO additions ;D
PNSO delights :D I absolutely adore both of these! Beautiful. I'm saving photos of the Tsintaosaurus for my upcoming review of it. ^-^

My congratulations, you have two high-quality dinosaurs originating from China. Honestly, PNSO's zhuchentyrannus is highly tempting. Thank you for sharing as always Boki your exceptional and careful photographs. I never miss your thread.

TooOldForDinosaurs

Great additions and wonderful photographs as to be expected from you  :)
I really enjoy this picture in particular because it looks like the Zhuchengtyrannus said or did something wrong that bothered Wilson a little too much and is now worried about what might happen next. You really captured his "Oooh crap" kinda look very well  ;D

Good additions both of them.  I'm looking forward to reading the Tsintaosaurus review.

Halichoeres

I'll definitely be interested to hear your thoughts on the Tsintaosaurus. And this Zhuchengtyrannus is probably their nicest tyrannosaur yet.

Hello! This time I have CollectA on my mind since they once again very generously sent me a reviewer box... I'm impressed and reassured by how they haven't forgotten the old style written reviews despite not having the same fame as those YouTubes who seems to be the ones getting all the attention from the major brands when in came to review advance copies.
So I am very humbled by CollectA's gestures and really grateful. They sent me 4 prehistoric and many extant animals.

Starting off with the prehistoric:

Spinosaurus - I am signed up to review tis so I am saving photos for that. This model exceeded my expectations and its really nice and long! I really love this model and holds its own agains the other more expensive brands and quickly finding its place on my top 3 favorites.
[]

Paraceratherium - Absolutely loving this guy! It's so different and full of character and attitude! It's nice compromised on the size, big enough to convey the impressive size of the real animal yet small enough to be displayed without clearing too much space. The reddish fur is a little bright but can be toned down of one wants to, I personally don't find it distracting, it reminds me of what we see in Asian elephants and rhinos.
[]

Cooperoceras- Yes, another beautiful and luminescent invertebrate to add to their impressive collection! This one is really beautiful especially the shine on the shell that looks so real.
[]

Pteranodon Stenbergeri - Beautiful and very graceful pterosaur model! Smaller that the deluxe we have come to be used to seeing from them. The size is just right for pterosaurs and easier to find display space. It has a movable jaw despite its small size and really well executed. Lot of details and the colors are just striking, really worth getting this on tin my opinion and I hope CollectA will continue to make more pterosaurs in this size regularly.
[]

And some extant animals: All nicely done and check out that deep water fish!
[]

That's it for now, really strong and diverse group from CollectA! The Triceratops and Edmontosaurus was originally going to be part of the box but there was a mix up and they didn't make it. They may send it later, but I'm happy for what they already sent me and can't complain. Thank you again CollectA!
Cheers!

Awesome stuff, B @Bokisaurus! Looking forward to the Spinosaurus review, and hoping that some of those extant fauna will appear on the ATB. At least tackle the elephant!

Thanks! I'm hoping to finish the review for next month, I'm going on a trip for 10 days :))
yeah, the elephant is awesome and angler fish just exquisite !

Some excellent photos here Boki - and you have made the Spinosaurus look much more appealing then the firm's own promo images.  I'm glad your reviews have won recognition from CollectA - well deserved.  I'm looking forward to seeing the Cooperoceras in my collection and admiring that pearly sheen in person.  Enjoy your trip!
