Certainly a welcome addition and hey, it looks pretty good.
If this turns out to be Lystrosaurus, I can already tell how the movie is gonna play out:

Loon

Fun Fact: the movie's called "Dominion" because at the end only Lystrosaurus are left and, after 252 million years, they rule once more.

I looked at some skeletal reconstruction of dicynodonts and ones with soft tissue and I cannot find one that looks like this. Maybe Lisowicia or Placerias?
Personally I think he looks like a baby Estemmenosuchus.
Most (if not all) Rebor figures are mid

A Jurassic World creature that doesn't match modern reconstructions? Shocking.

Definitely a dicynodont, but too small looking to be either of those. If this was meant to be an estemmenosuchus of any age, they really messed up.

Not gonna lie, the head shape kind of reminds me of Ark's Lystrosaurus.

I seriously hope this is a Lystrosaurus though or one of its relatives. Would be pretty cool to finally have a prehistoric synapsid in the films finally (even if Dimetrodon was the most requested).

The addition of hairs is a subtle nice touch as well.

Edit: I grabbed a different pic. Hope this one works better.

Another edit: Can't believe I forgot to mention this, but I am going to be eagerly anticipating for Mattel to make this one. Would be a nice companion to the Scutosaurus (depending on if it is a Permian species, but well even so, the genus existed during both the Permian and Triassic).

Huh I would've figured that the first Paleozoic creature we would see is a Dimetrodon but I'm all for prehistoric diversity I just wonder why the would clone a dicynodont.

Because they found its DNA!

They were soooo lucky they happened to find mosquitos that had dined on all the most famous dinos. :P

You consider dicynodonts to be famous? Also it´s getting rather blatant how they copy ideas from previous movies, now. An animal in a cage is obviously stolen from The Lost World! Definitely belongs on the list!

It probably is a Lystrosaurus, but I wouldn´t be surprised if it is a juvenile Placerias or something.

No, I was referring to T. rex, Triceratops, etc. the stars of JP to date. It would be a lucky break to find blood from them in a mosquito. There are so many more obscure prehistoric species than the handful of famous ones, so something obscure like a Lystrosaurus, or even one of the many unknown dinosaur species that existed but are not represented by fossils, would be much more likely. So, my comment was a compliment to JW, something I don't do very often.  ;D

Also, I like the idea of the JP scientists not knowing the species until it hatched and grew up. After all, how would they know the species from the DNA alone?

I was browsing reddit when I saw a comment that mentioned that Colin Trevorrow had confirmed this in fact a Lystrosaurus over on twitter:

I am so hyped about this. Finally a prehistoric synapsid in a Jurassic film (I am hoping we see Dimetrodon as well, and not just the one in the diorama teased in FK either). Now the long wait for the merch of this little one, and to see it in action in the film begins.

Maybe don't post the last picture. I don't want people to get the movie spoiled for them :)
I know some people want to go in completely blind.

Out of the last four movies, three of them have a "bigger than T. rex" theropod to upstage themselves. You think they'd get bored. If the Giga ends up fighting Rexy the eyeroll will go so far back it'll probably rip my eyes from their stems.

I hope the Giganotosaurus at least looks cool, since it's probably gonna be all over the search results and inspire a lot of figures lol
I always said that they could have just used a Giga (or heck, Fasolasuchus, that one could even justify the quadrupedal walk and all) instead of the Indominus since it's just an albino carcharodontosaur with a few extra steps so on that note I'm at least interested to see on how it'll play out (please don't be just another "here is the new big bad theropod that the T.rex will square off against")

I have to disagree. If they had put Giganotosaurus instead of the I.rex then it wouldn't have made sense, cause that means that they would have made the Giga super intelligent, capable of camouflage, changing his temperature, being able to communicate with the velociraptors and being extremely aggressive for no reason whatsoever (just like the Spino in JP3). It would have felt incredibly out of place and people would have complained even more. So, in the context of the film, the I.rex is irreplaceable. Whether you liked the film or not is something else, but for for what the film is, replacing the I.rex with anything else just wouldn't work. For a Giganotosaurus to be the main dino, you would need to change the entire film.

Well, as exciting as the reveal should be, it didn't got me that excited, and I dont know why. My guess is that it is because reddit spoiled me, which is frustrating, I would have liked to discover this in other way.

Or it may also be the forum´s negativity around Jurassic World rubbing off on me...
