The local toy store sells Schleich figures, and the new ones were in stock. In person, they were actually pretty good, you just need to give them a chance.
Nah, I'm kidding. They look terrible.

The schleich carnotaurus is a bad joke,as Marc Vincent said on the Papo Carnotaurus. In my opinion the schleich fat ugly carnotaurus cannot be compared with the Papo one, which I think it's awesome

Even as a disney knockoff it's quite poor. The styrac is an even worse disney knockoff.
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

Yep. If they'd made accurate Disney pieces it would something else again..I've always wanted Disney to release high quality statues of the DINOSAUR characters..especially the Carnotaurus.  I just have to settle for the Dinosauria one I guess. heh :)

Saurus is defunct, Schleich have emphasised that they see themselves in a toy market and not a collector's market.  They have a very strong sales presence in Europe as well as the UK, although with the demise of the "Saurus" line (last production 2012), we shall see what effect their positioning has on future releases.  Schleich tied up a promotional deal with Signature Publishing earlier this year which produces the "Dinomite"monthly dinosaur magazine.  This magazine is aimed at primary school children, this is probably a good indication of where Schleich are heading with their "prehistoric animals" range.

Just got word that the Jurassic Hunters 3rd expedition series (the mammals) isn't even in production yet, and is probably delayed until 2014. :-\

But at least we know what to expect, and they did release the small figures in the Ice Age play sets

Im sorry, but what do you mean  by not in production Yet

Are these figures evean in exsistance yet?

It looks very accurate, organic in appearance. The skull reconstruction seems anatomically sound, with notched jaws and reasonable proportions.

I wonder when it will be released. I'm looking forward to the Papo Dimetrodon and the Papo Gavial.

We are monitoring the Papo situation every day, fortunately we are quite well connected and we get a bit of help which is greatly appreciated.  The good news, is that despite a few minor delays (remember, the Papo Dimetrodon was originally scheduled for a Feb 2013 release, but the Carnotaurus came first), the painting and shipping schedule has not slipped after the reassessment that took place on 19th June.  Papo Dimetrodon should be at the French hub early August, we are expecting stocks around 7-10 days after this.

Those are probably the original models/prototypes/early paints--the line is not in production for sale yet though, and is delayed until 2014.

This may not be wholly appropriate in this thread, but it could end up a new 2013 figure acquisition for me. :)

I may just have gotten incredibly lucky at my regular Collecta/Papo adress in Amsterdam. I was inspecting the available figures carefully which drew the attention of the people behind the counter, who boasted they could get my any Papo figure. I decided to take them up on the offer and asked me whether they could get me a brown Papo Running T-Rex. Turns out one of them, a man with a Flemish accent, is a key person in Papo's Benelux distribution. He told me he would look into the matter personally as he wasn't aware of the brown version, but he seemed to be enough of an expert, being able to name the running T-Rex's catalogue (55027) code from memory (so he knows his Papo dinosaurs!). The woman from the store also asked him to order several brown running Rexes if he could, so who knows, there may be a small (and likely brief) brown Rex infestation there soon! I left my e-mail address, so as soon as they got word on the subject, the'll let me know. Here's to hoping he can indeed pull this off for me... :)

And he also confirmed me the Dimetrodon is indeed due in August.

good luck Roselaar

I would like to see these figures face to face  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Incidentally, the guy also mentioned 'cool new Papo dinosaurs' that were due next year, but he wasn't allowed to say what they were. But hey, it sounds intriguing! :)
