Maybe because of higher expectations with their non-movie dinos. Remember their Yutyrannus? I think that one was a half-hearted attempt with the feathers. That said, I do like their Acro.

I decided I'd piece together all the teaser images after I finished my classes for the day but someone beat me to it.

The angle kinda makes it look like it wont have a neck.

Does anyone believe this will be in 1:35? Have they ever made anything in 1:35?
Do you think it will be smaller or larger than 1:35? I know you are pretty good at keeping track what a more accurate scale is for their figures, but forgot if they tend to make them bigger or smaller. IIRC, its the former, correct? Or does it just vary?

Everything Dinosaur does a pretty good job comparing the scale of REBOR models, in their videos and blog.

IT is clear to me, that Rebor does not care to much about dinosaurs.   I made it clear that true dinosaur fans do not dwell on what movies made them think looks cool.   Since i am no longer following Rebor, i am going to say that these guys have no respect for these creatures, or those who actually care about them. All of there models are made to appeal to those who think dinosaurs are nothing but monsters that appeared in there childhood movies.  Seeing them make this carnotarus based on the Disney model is the final straw that made me break this silence.    A true dinosaur fan should know that the skull was not as wide as depicted in the movies, and the creators know that its wrong, yet they do not care enough about dinosaurs to make it look like the real thing, which to me is a sign that they care as much about dinosaurs as the director of Jurassic World (who made a downright fake one because they think real ones are boring).

Dinosaurs are more than just real animals though. Yes it's disheartening when people actively go out of their way to insult or even deny the existence of real dinosaurs, but they are as much a science fiction and cultural phenomena as they were an environmental one. So long as someone can separate fantasy from reality and accept that what they prefer may not be truth I don't see any problem.

I'm not fond of Trevorrow either* and I think he was a very bad choice to direct Jurassic World, but I think you've misunderstood the idea behind the Indominus. The idea was to create a "non-humorous-satirization" (for lack of a better description) of the general trend in film to try and constantly one-up itself. Each Transformers movie needs more explosions than the last, and each Jurassic Park needs a new giant predator, but even if that's what people enjoy is it really what they want? That was supposed to be the idea.

* I was originally inclined to write off the poorly hidden sexism (no I do not think Zara's death was sexist, a background character dying brutally is hardly new to Jurassic Park) and anti-intellectualism in Jurassic World as poor execution, but after hearing about his supposed use of LGBT tropes in Safety Not Guaranteed (the token lesbian apparently falls in love with the male lead [I've not seen the movie to confirm]) it seems to represent a concerning trend of (at least) insensitivity to modern issues in his films. If this was satire or comedy it would be different, but these are serious (at least in setting) movies and they are in a position to be held to higher standards.

It was unlikely I would be tempted by a Carnotaurus regardless, but I must sympathize with those who wanted a nice new one to compliment the Papo and Carnegie. Even the licensed Disney Dinosaur Carnotaurus looked more realistic (and as such less like their film counterparts).

I can understand making figures based on iconic movie dinosaurs, but one from a sub par Disney movie? That's pretty low. I was on the fence about carnotaurus (not one of my favorites, plus I already have the papo) but if it really looks like the Disney one I can't see myself getting it. Really at this point I'm just waiting for their stegosaurus, an ankylosaurus (if they ever make one) and then I'm finished with their line

Dinomike

I think, at this point, seeing the head is the most important thing. Here's to hoping it's a good one!

QuoteREBOR: Carnotaurus in Disney's Dinosaur were awesome and we always wanted to pay a little homage to that certain design, just trying to cross it off our bucket list mate :)

This quote summarises Rebor as a company; their main interest is in creating figurines of what they see as 'awesome' representations of dinosaurs, regardless of accuracy or reality. They are effectively making figures for themselves, and not for us. When they try to make something designed to please the more scientifically inclined, such as their 'feathered' pieces, it looks awful and fails on both counts, because it's not really what they want to be doing.
Does Rebor deserve respect? Certainly not. Though I struggle to see why anyone still feels dissapointment in them releasing something that is not accurate to the real animal, because that seems to give them too much credit. It's like feeling dissapointment every time Michael Bay doesn't make a pensive, slow-burning drama. I don't think it's worth getting angry about any more, Rebor isn't going to listen to criticism, their going to keep making what they want, when they want, how they want. It's never mattered what we want.
I have not watched Disney's Dinosaur since I was a child, but I do remember loving it at the time and have retained a fondness for the Carnotaurus designs, which personally I much prefer to some of the Jurassic Park dinosaur designs Rebor is so enamoured with, and in that sense, this figure is not particularly objectionable to me. I'd rather see a figure based on the Disney Carnotaurus, than more of their goofy 'Dinosaur Train' juveniles, or their limp, wirey-haired Deinonychus'.

Well, here is "Crimson King," as Rebor refers to him on Facebook. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this one. Granted, I need to see more angles and color photos, but I'm not really feeling it. Something about the shape of the head and the long, skinny horns feels off to me. Also, they're saying it'll be about the size of the Ceratosaurus and Yutyrannus.

Silvanusaurus

What is this? I'm losing it. I'm actually losing it. Is it a joke? It doesn't even look like the Disney Carnotaurus. It doesn't look like the real animal, and neither does it look like the fantasy version... Now I am actually dissapointed, after just posting about not being able to feel dissapointment in Rebor any longer...
It doesn't even look cool. Why does it look so stupid?
Sorry, I can't handle it, mate.
Maybe it's just the angle, but man, that's a bad angle.

Derek.McManus

I think it looks better than I expected but to be honest I don't think I would be tempted to purchase it.

Shonisaurus

Honestly speaking I like the old, defunct version of Carnegie, with the difference that this figure will cost twice as much money.

Moreover head the horns are too large for a carnotaurus. But we had better say that if Rebor then does what he wants?

From what I've read on other pages will be crimson, ultimately figure Disney.

Derek.McManus

Rebor are highlighting the fact that it is the first Carnotaurus model with lips on Facebook now!

tyrantqueen

Looks too svelte to be the Disney Carnotaurus. It ended up as an awkward hybrid.

Looks like they're going to be homaging the Disney version by adding spikes and oversized brow horns. I'm betting the final colour will be some shade of red.

Flaffy

I guess my predictions were correct?
Just... What are thooooose... It looks like a weird fusion reject from Disney's and Papo's Carnotaurus.
I have no hopes for Rebor anymore, and it's sad to see that there are people who blindly collect their products and supporting them.
The colour for this abomination will be red and black as shown in this post, "All fans voted red&black  :)"
This model doesn't capture the uniqueness and strange anatomy of the carnotaurus, it's just another generic killing machine with horns and spikes.
I can't say I'm surprised, but man that looks ugly.

fason

from this angle its legs look too long and its tail looks too fat, maybe just me , maybe just that compared to the body

Derek.McManus

Since lots of Rebor models are inspired by dinosaur movies I wonder if they could do 'Gwangi' or Allosaurs Rex as Ray Harryhausen referred to the creature!

Rain

Here's some alternate angles that make it look slightly better but it still looks like a pass to me :/ what a shame, I was excited for this one.
