I have seen Cryolophosaurus at a Target location within the past week. I can confirm that the packaging was in two languages, so this must have been brand new stock.

If you ask me, there is some hope.

I recently Contacted the Terra universe website, and asked them if we will EVER see the remaining sculpts released for the line.

They said
QuoteHello,

Thank you for your email.  We always appreciate when our customers take the time to write us and give us their feedback and use this information to help us improve our products and service.

The Terra line is an ongoing brand that we do not unfortunately have any updates on for the moment. The passing of Dan LoRusso was sad news to us all, and we hope to be able to bring his final molds to the line in the future.

Thank you.

So at least there is Hope?

That's the exact same answer they've been giving everyone. At this point, I really don't have any hope left. Sure, they may be continuing to ship the existing moulds, and that's good, but I don't foresee myself ever reviewing the Europasaurus or the Maiasaura.  :(

I just recently found out there's a Maiasaurus in the Battat line and it seems to be an amazing figure, I haven't seen any Europasaurus though, you got any pictures, only Europasaurus I know is by Bullyland?

I frequently check ebay for Battats, I mean, they were sold for several years and there had to be thousands in children's room across the US? Why do they turn up so seldom?  Are there so many collectors hording them? Here in Germany

I have the same question about the Play Visions amphibians...

Thanks,....  it would be a new release under the Battat Terra Line, right? So no "original" version of it?

No, Battat Terra only.
And never released until now...  :-\

Unfortunately they are unfinished projects. The nasutoceratops especially is even as good as the Safari and would make a good trio next to the Collecta nasutoceratops of my collection, but unfortunately after the dramatic demise of Dan LoRusso I doubt if they can be marketed.

The figures of Battat were very good. And it would be a great thing to release all (discontinued) and commercialize the new ones. I suppose there are problems with respect to Dan's heirs as far as copyright is concerned.  :(

suspsy

Dan's widow mentioned on Facebook yesterday that Battat has all the remaining prototypes. So whatever the issue is with them not being released, the LoRusso family is not part of it. It's completely on Battat.

I wonder if she would know if the Gallimimus and Utahraptor got finished.  If not I wonder if those two are the ones delaying the line. We may never know.  Battat not really talking.

suspsy

I'm pretty sure Dan didn't even get around to starting on those two (he hadn't completed the three remaining new figures), and I seriously doubt that's the reason for the delay.

They could reissue Dans LoRusso figures of dinosaurs as the epic diplodocus Battat is in fact a memorable figure and those that are sold by eBay secondhand its price is almost 500 dollars. Which makes these figures unattainable.

They could also hire a new sculptor and could release that unfinished project of dinosaurs because of the unfortunate death of Dan LoRusso.
It would be a good thing if this company resurrected with regard to the creation of both reissued and new figures and marketed in Europe. I sincerely like the figures of Battat and have many figures that do not have to envy the best toy manufacturers in the world.

There is a Sculptor who is willing to offer to continue the line for them.    But thats if Battat will let him.

Yep, from what I remember, Dan had sent off the finished Nasutoceratops to Battat. So, it and all the others are still due for release...at some point.
I'm optimistic at the moment because I think lack of shelf space could be one of the main reasons why we haven't seen more Battat releases yet.

Though this is just an assumption, the limited space for dinosaurs on the Terra endcaps at Target could simply  be at capacity, as far as the number of different species the stores want to be carrying at any time. I don't know, but this could also be the case for the Terra modern animals, too. It seems like there hasn't been much in the way of any new Terra releases lately.

Think about it. There are currently ten dinosaurs available, and they are all typically on just one shelf. They will have to redesign the already limited layout of the Terra display at each store just to fit ONE copy of the Diplodocus on the shelf for sale. I doubt they intend to begin retiring the dinosaurs that are already available, so they sort of seem like they're at an impasse to release anything new, unless Battat is somehow given more shelf space.

I feel like these are problems that could be solved.

Leslie LoRusso gave me the go-ahead, so here's what she wrote on Facebook:

my husband . . . was actually pretty sick when working on these, i believe the offer from battat to help create the terra line of dino toys came at the perfect time as working on the line was something positive to do while fighting the battle with his health ... as for the line battat has in hand 4 more new/original figures/dinos, gastonia gigantoraptor, europasaurus & pentaceratops that are complete & ready to go, they were all sculpted/resined/cleaned/painted & are in battat's hands, these are in addition to the other original 4 pachy, nanshi, dacent, & croloph ... there are also somewhere between 14-19 repaints done of the original MOS line, i have yet to figure out the exact number that danny repainted/boxed though i do believe it is either 16 or 17 but i do know for sure battat released 8 of them, the others are in their hands to be release when/if they choose, i am not certain but i believe the diplodocus is one of them ... well that is it, just wanted to say thanks for posting & thought i would update you all on the line ~ my best, dan's wife leslie

The same I say suspsy thank you for sharing answer. From what I see there are possibilities that these figures will be released in the future.

I was actually thinking of contacting battat to see if they would be interested in getting me to sculpt new dinosaurs for this line. I am currently sculpting a 1/40th scale Allosaurus. once it's completed I will send pictures to them and ask them and see what they think. I would really like to see this line continued as it is the best line of 40th scale dinosaurs out there in my opinion.

That's good to know, thanks, Suspsy. It might be that they haven't bothered releasing new ones because the existing figures are selling reasonably well. Maybe when they start to flag they'll release additional figures to reinvigorate. I was surprised to see nothing new for the 2016 holiday season, though.
