T&a from Rebor?
Bring it on!  ;D

Minmiminime

Given their Duke Nukem style, Anchorman type attitude, and apparent love of the classics, I'm not entirely certain they are joking..! :o It's certainly...inventive either way

Apparently Rebor is going to produce these, for scale purposes. Show no mercy guys!

If they are actually making these, then I would probably choose to buy it over most of their dinosaurs.

Shonisaurus

If they refer in this joke to making scientific dinosaurs 100 percent of a single piece and jaws and other articulated parts of the body, would applaud the joke.

"Scale purposes"...

Yes, and I play Hyperdimension Neptunia for the plot :P

Halichoeres

If they included these with their dinosaurs, I actually think it's a cool touch, like a mildly pretentious version of Hans or the CollectA pickaxe guy. I'm not going to buy them separately.

The question is: is the David figure to scale with a person or with the actual statue, which is 5 meters tall? Given how over-sized Rebor's dinosaurs tend to be relative to their "official" scales, I think we should assume the latter.

Here's what the Facebook post tells, take it with a grain of salt:

"Surprise! Something totally unexpected-many collectors suggested that we should make a miniature human figure for scale reference purpose, well now we have more than one! Introducing REBOR Homo sapiens miniature replica Michelangelo's David & Alexandros' Aphrodite of Milos-the perfect specimens throughout the entire human history, although Tom Hary and Kate Beckinsale will do just fine too...humm...now come to think of it perhaps we should...sorry anyway the set represents a 180cm adult male and a 170cm adult female in 1:35, 1:18 and 1:10 scale that will work nicely with your own collections. Coming soon!"

Sometimes I ask myself why Rebor has such.....peculiar ideas.....And why they waste their time with them instead of focusing on their main lines.

One thing for sure, they will be in the wrong scale.

It's hit or miss with REBOR. We all laughed at REBOR's fridge magnet bust concept, but now a number of companies (mainstream and start-up) are experimenting with something similar (even before REBOR's concept actualized in the real world).

I wonder who owns the rights to Michelangelo's David & Alexandros' Aphrodite.

If anyone is interested, there are posable (pricey) versions of these:

How are these any more pricy then Rebors products?

stargatedalek

As Figmas go those are pretty inexpensive actually :P

Although they aren't nearly as articulated as regular Figmas and don't include any accessories or such.

Silvanusaurus

If they are doing a human figure for scale, I feel like it would more appropriate for them to do a figure of Alan Grant, but with a big twirly moustache.

Well, I assumed that the REBOR Homo Sapiens figures were included for scale (comparable to Schleich ReplicaSaurus human figure, original, 1:43) as a bonus that will be packed in with some dinosaur model. Let's assume that the Homo Sapiens Miniature Replica is roughly double the size of the ReplicaSaurus. If that is the case, depending on the price of the 3D printed materials, these miniatures should cost anywhere between $3 to $18 (For comparison, the Schleich ReplicaSaurus human figure costs roughly $0).

The Figma Table Top series is full-fledged (and, not a pack in).  However, I could be totally wrong and these Miniature Replicas could be standalone, highly detailed releases by REBOR. It is also entirely possible that REBOR is joking....as they've done with other posts.

That's true. I am actually very much looking forward to the following:

I'm actually really amuzed by these scale figures. Hope they'll get realized!

Holy cow, that is an insane figure. Also, 5 inches tall and $70? I know it must involve an awful lot of precision machining, but jeez.

What I have noticed in the photos that Aphrodite in the Amazon purchase photos lacks at the beginning of arms and then appears with them. How can that be? On the other hand are very expensive those figures but the fun that are articulated remind me of the figures of when I was a very small boy of geyperman. The figure of Roden's thinker is also curious. They are figures based on works of art so I understand they are so expensive.

I settle for a figure of scale size next to the dinosaur in turn as commented Rebor. But do not be as expensive as those! More Dinosaur figure would come out along with shipping than a big size PNSO dinosaur! Impossible for my economy.

Derek.McManus

Many years ago when I was first married my wife bought a copy of Aphrodite that was about 3 feet tall and sat in the corner of the living room, a neighbours young son came to visit one day and covered his his eyes in shock at her bare breast!
