The new paintjob is awesome of course, but I have to admit being more drawn to the dark-head of the first attempt. This is not a dig at the new coat; merely personal preference.

Switching gears here a little bit. When I saw this kit from (https://www.facebook.com/akrexchannel/) I had to get it.

I subbed out the tail with a leftover BotM one (I liked the length a little better) and added some quills to the proto (looking at this now I don't much care of them but the deed is done!).

Halichoeres

Nice build-up! The color schemes are attractive and plausible, and they're well executed. I like the plant you added (some kind of yucca?), which I don't think is part of the kit. Modified aquarium plant?

Thank you! The plant was something I picked up at Michael's. I'm not really sure what its supposed to represent (admittedly I don't know much about plants!) but I thought it looked cool and might fit in well with a diorama. Glad I nabbed it!. I still need to add something to hide rod that's holding it in place, though. Looking at these pics again its pretty obvious  O:-)

Killekor

Great work! I really like how the painted diorama looks realistic!

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Not much new to report, things have been slow on both the collecting and painting fronts.

But I did finish up a Prey Collection bust. These things are really cool... I hope someday they do full body casts for species like the Dilo.

I love how fleshy they are.

Halichoeres

I'm not really wild about Belov's theropods, but I do think some of the soft tissue embellishments are pretty cool. This paint-up is looking good; I love the color scheme.

Cretaceous Crab

I haven't checked out this thread in a while, but nice work! I really like the Acrocanthosaurus, Parasaurolophus and the Dilo  bust.

Still haven't felt much like finishing projects lately, but I recently discovered another tabletop company that uses extinct fauna to garnish its setting. I'm trying to get back on that horse so I can be ready for when these arrive:

Decided the Prey Collection/Belov Ceratosaurus was a good candidate. I don't normally use blood/gore for my paintups but there's just something supremely monstrous about this figure that some bloody teeth seemed appropriate.

Unprecedented productivity today, also finished the Prey Collection Dunk:

Great work! Thanks for sharing. Your works looks quite professional. To see customised Figures and Repaints is always great and i can learn from them.

Halichoeres

That sculpt is a pretty fanciful take on Dunkleosteus. You've really brought it to life; I'm getting a northern-pike-meets-oarfish vibe from it. Nice work.

Can you give some other examples? It would be good to have a thread somewhere here on gaming miniatures, probably under "kits" since they normally need painting.

Bokisaurus

Very nice. You handle colors really well especially the blues 😃

Shonisaurus

avatar_paintingdinos @paintingdinos The dunkleosteus looks like a real fish, only one fish tank is missing and I am serious about repainting.

paintingdinos

Aww, thanks everyone for the nice words. Appreciate it  :))

I don't know if I can be trusted to keep a thread up to date with all the info, but I'm happy to get you started if you'd like to start one.

A few I've personally purchased and liked:

Khurasan miniatures - Very nice little minis:
http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mm-prehistoric.html

Antimatter Games - Mostly fantasy, "inspired by" prehistoric critters but still really cool:
https://antimatter-games.com/

DeeZee Minis - Prehistoric mammals, really nice, like these a lot. May be other sellers but I got mine from:
https://arcanesceneryandmodels.co.uk/product-category/deezee-miniatures/deezee-beasts/

Others that I've never personally purchased from (at least not yet!) but know about:

Wow, Yes! I love the Khurasan Minis. The Edmonto Herd and the Allos. I'm always looking for smaller and different Animals. They would be perfect for smallscale Dioramas. Always wanted a Dio with a small group of Hadrosaurs.

Shonisaurus

avatar_paintingdinos @paintingdinos DeeZee Minis' prehistoric mammals are quite reasonably priced. I'm so glad you did this fabulous collection of prehistoric animals and thanks for the links.

The thread is started.... here!

I'm only about half way through but the spring sunshine is tempting me away from the keyboard.

I found a website for Michael Lovejoy who sculpted some of the Khurusan Miniatures and MicroWorld Games dinosaurs which show his greenstuff originals. Scroll down and there's a nice, fat 1/50th scale Giganotosaurus
