I decided to do some comparisons of the Amber Collection 6.5 inch JP raptor. While the 1/6 scale Chronicle Collectibles one seems to match the animatronic and maquette rather faithfully (just go to the post here to see: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=8021.msg235768#msg235768), I do think it still nails the more dark and more muted look the raptors ended up having in the film, and in certain images (possibly due to lighting, etc).

From Jurassic Outpost's Twitter ( https://mobile.twitter.com/JurassicOutpost/status/1152328825273016320 ):

So 17 new species confirmed for next year (three of those being Cryolophosaurus, Alioramus, and a Jurassic World Evolution like Edmontosaurus, a film accurate Sinoceratops, and possibly a Sarcosuchus, Postosuchus, Iguanodon, Scutosaurus, and more). A new Primal Attack feature has been shown too.

https://mobile.twitter.com/JurassicOutpost/status/1152347457042305024

Edit: And can I just say I am so happy they are making more species including the Edmontosaurus and one of my favorite dinosaurs, the Cryolophosaurus as well as possibly what looks to be an Iguanodon, Sarcosuchus, Postosuchus, and a Scutosaurus of all things?

Also should this post be moved to a new 2020 thread?

Looks like an Ichthyovenator to me.

Mattel is using a color pattern for edmontosaurus very similar to JW:Evolution.

i also see a majungasaurus in the top left corner

stargatedalek

That's either Ichthyovenator or an Irritator with an inaccurate split-sail (which is not uncommon to see).

JW:E did not invent that Edmontosaurus colourscheme, it was used in the promotional material for the first Jurassic World films tie-in website, and has been generally considered soft-canon since then.

I'd like to know what that tyrannosaurid is at the front of the group. And the large theropod at the top.

I'm guessing off its head and fingers it could be a Carcha. Snout's too pointy for a Giga but I could be wrong. Might be modeled after the JW: Evolution Carcha if it is.

Otherwise not sure. Usually if its not a Spino or a Rex its a Giga or a Carcha based on what I've noticed when companies try to release a new big theropod

i have a hunch the tyrannosaurid is a tarbosaurus

Hard to get excited for figures you won't be able to acquire without having to pay expensive shipping fees.

But next year's species choices certainly are interesting, and finally, a screen accurate Sinoceratops.

tanystropheus

I hope they release a Monolophosaurus in a color scheme that does the figure justice.

MLMjp

I guess not buying more mattel stuff after dino rivals as a response to the John Hammond fiasco is gonna be difficult.

Also, even though I am glad they decided to do and Edmontosaurus...when are they gonna do a Corythosaurus? It is a film canon dinosaur and it has never got a toy.

Glad we are going to get a proper Sinoceratops, that one I will defenitely get. Canon species are reasons to break my protest.

Killekor

Honestly, The upcoming figure of which I'm happier is the Scutosaurus. It's such a surprising choice from Mattel!
But I don't really like the Cryolophosaurs. It looks more a fantasy creature then a dinosaur.

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Yeah I'm still waiting for Corythosaurus and Apatosaurus (though 2021 would be a better year for it maybe). But I am really glad to have that Edmontosaurus and proper film accurate Sinoceratops now. Plus whatever new species are from Camp Cretaceous.

My main concern is my lack of space now. Going to be real tricky to fit everything new in there, but life uh finds a way.

Today is going to be a good work day in the field. Anticipating my next day off so I can go Quetzalcoatlus and Nasutoceratops hunting...

I think you're right.  If the spine looked a little taller, I'd be tempted to throw Acrocanthosaurus into the ring as well, but...well, then again, this line has never been the most accurate.  Still, interested to see what comes of this stuff.  For once, my local Walmart has a ton of the new toys, so maybe this line isn't doing as awful as I thought?
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

I hope we get a lycaenops and a esttemenosuchus to go with scutosaurus eventually, like the old Kenner line had. :)

That's cool that they are making so many new species, but I couldn't possibly afford or have space for all of them. Then again,  half of those will probably end up looking weirdly inaccurate or overly cartoonish so I will probably only end up getting half of them anyway.

Im glad we're getting another carnotaurus but  why did they have to give him that stupid gimmick. I was hoping for  a more basic articulated figure like the albertosaurus.

Halichoeres

Wow, 17 new species! So far I only have 2 Mattel figures, but with that kind of variety maybe they'll tempt me with a few more.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Takama

2019 had 16 new species

2020 has 17

I bet 2021 will have 18 then :))
