Quote from: David96 on April 25, 2025, 02:19:24 AMYes, it's Camarasaurus. And they said that this one could come in 1/18th scale

Does that mean that the Camarasaurus would only be offered in 1:18 scale? Or that it could be offered in 1:18 scale, in addition to a 1:35 version?

Personally, I have no interest in Camarasaurus, but I recall Amargasaurus was kinda confirmed for the line, and if they only offer Camarasaurus in 1:18 scale then I'm expecting the same to be true for Amargasaurus, which is even smaller. In that case, I'd skip it.

That said, concerning sauropods, I'm wondering whether they'll skip truly big sauropods like Apatosaurus or if they will only be offering those in 1:35 scale.

I'm also wondering if will they be offering 1:35 versions of the upcoming Acrocanthosaurus and/or Carnotaurus. That would be great.

Quote from: Faelrin on April 25, 2025, 02:22:59 AMEdit: Spinosaurus head sculpt revealed. Looks great.

Indeed! As expected from Baardse, his theropods are magnificent.

Indeed. Even though I usually prefer static figures, based on that teaser I'd say there's a good chance that the BotM will be my new favorite Spinosaurus. Even more so if Gabriel Ugueto designs its color scheme.

My opinion is reinforced every time I see more of it.  :P I'd rather wait for the 1:35 BotM Spinosaurus than get the newer PNSO.

Love the new Allosaurus jimmadseni art too. I was already greatly looking forward to this figure, now even more so.  *-*

The Spinosaurus does indeed look great. Curious to see what its colour scheme will be.

Disappointed that Arctotherium was not announced.

I'm looking forward to seeing how BotM's take on Spinosaurus differs from the upcoming Mesozoic Life version. I find the lacrimals on the Botm sculpt more convincing, and the varied integument is very appealing to me.

Chalicotheres are uncommon enough as toys, but I think an articulated one is unprecedented!

No, David said that Camarasaurus would be among the ones that could be done in 1/18th scale. In contrast someone mentioned Argentinosaurus but David said that it would not be feasible to make that one in 1/18th scale, which is sadly true although I'd certainly buy one. But I could bet that the 1/35th version for Camara will be even more likely, and it would also probably come first. Same with Amarga.

But opposite opinion to that here, Camara would probably be my favorite figure in the line (unless an even bigger sauropod is made). I have been literally wanting one since 2022 that Cyberzoic was announced. But on 1/18th, I couldn't care less about 1/35th figures. I only get those when there isn't a bigger option available.

Here's the info dump from tonight's stream (Creative Beasts Episode 18), though I was a bit late to watching it:

The 1/18 raptors cost about as much as the 1/6 raptors to produce. There's little profit incentive to make them, however David does have the parts layouts for all of them made already, so there's a possibility they could get made some day. David still wants to do the 1/6 Atrociraptor (some blue bird), and Balaur (hoatzin) repaints that were planned earlier. Balaur was actually originally planned to be based on the hoatzin for the raptor series Kickstarter, but was swapped with the Anhinga bird instead.

Nanuqsaurus was confirmed to share body with the Yutyrannus (not shown though). Probably going to share arms with the Dryptosaurus if I had to guess (unless it gets new ones sculpted).

Lizard dragon parts layout was shared. If possible David would like there to be wires in each of the wing's digits (if I understood right). The 1/18 raptors should be able to fit into the hands (like the original raptors vs dragon model kit).

Fans of the model kits rejoice, the Dimetrodon one will get another run from his mold maker Jeremy Monz.

I didn't know about this (or did I forgot lol), but apparently a dire wolf is being worked on. No updates to show on it though. I take it this was revealed or announced in one of the previous streams I (possibly) missed? I have so much catching up to do.

The Zoic trading card game is getting a kickstarter in September. Launch date appears to be 9/23/25. I'm definitely looking forward to that.

In case folks aren't aware there is a new clothing shop (and other things): https://creative-beast-studio.printify.me/

Some of the designs include package art from the BotM Gorgosaurus, Utahraptor, Cryolophosaurus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, alpha Velociraptor, several ceratopsians, other tyrannosaurs, and logos. I did ask for the Allosaurus, Dilophosaurus, and Yutyrannus on the instagram reveal post.

Early progress of the Ceratosaurus sculpt by Raul Ramos was revealed. David also confirmed there to be two head sculpts with different horns, for BotM and Cyberzoic, much like the Dilophosaurus. Probably won't release until 2026 at the earliest. Still seems to be plans to use the blue color from the Cyberzoic concept art piece Ross did a while back.

Carnotaurus parts layout was shared. It was actually leaked a bit earlier in the stream (during the lizard dragon parts showcase):

Ross wants to sculpt a baby Carnotaurus. Oh man would love that to happen. It would be highly speculative sure, but also really cute and fun. There was an onslaught of comments in support of it which was great to see lol.

Carnotaurus package art (wip) reveal, by Raph Lomotan:

Lastly was the packaging previews for the Cyberzoic Dino Riders styled Smilodon set, and the human figures. Looking really good I think. No screencaps here. It was near the very end of the stream (like last ten mins or so), so easy to check out if one wants to.

There was other stuff discussed and shown off but it doesn't necessarily pertain to this thread (Jurassic films, David's various dragon designs, etc).

Giganotosaurus

Faelrin, we really can't thank you enough for these write-ups! Perhaps they are working on a Dire Wolf now given the recent publicity? Also, for clarification, will the Dire Wolf be an action figure, or a model kit? I hope we eventually get a Ceratosaurus that has similar colors to the JPIII individual.

avatar_Giganotosaurus @Giganotosaurus Likely an action figure, like the rest of the Cyberzoic/BotM/BotC is. That's where most of David's focus is now a days. Would be the first of its kind I think.

Also thanks. Part of me wants to go revisit previous streams and compile images (as needed) of the other reveals.

I'm still wondering why an established company like Creative Beast needs a new kickstarter to produce cardboard

I'll too admit to being a little surprised that this was announced as their next Kickstarter venture. Maybe I missed something but I would think with the lineup he's planning that David would need to do another action figure centric Kickstarter before anything. I mean for next year we're already looking at a massive Spinosaurus, Austroraptor, Woolly Rhino, and Kentrosaurus, not to mention the elephants he inherited from Eons and the figures already in development like this Ceratosaurus, the long awaited Acrocanthosaurus, and all the juveniles.
But hopefully such a lineup without a Kickstarter is a good sign. Maybe it means the line is self sufficient by now

Dusty Wren

I'm very curious to see how a trading card game Kickstarter will go for them. The issue with buying into a brand new TCG is that you need to know people who have their own decks and will play with you. It's pretty different from just buying a figure that you think looks cool. Most of the people I know who play TCGs got into playing Magic because everyone else was already playing it, so it was easy to find local games.
Check out my customs thread!

David explained the reason for the kickstarter on the stream. It was to gage interest and also to spread the word about it outside the typical channels (the social media accounts and perhaps the action figure and dinosaur toy communities like ours).

There may be people interested in the cards, but not the figures, and there may be those interested in the figures but not the cards. Though some of the figures will have cards exclusive to them. Then there are those like me, that would like both.

There will also be kickstarter exclusive cards, so another incenitive for early backers.

Edit: As far as I can tell the Stegosaurus and Pachycephalosaurus up for pre-order are all new molds, no parts shared. The former was fully hand sculpted anyways. Andrewsarchus and Cryolophosaurus part share with Smilodon (or was it just the upcoming Cyberzoic armor for Andrewsarchus?) and Dilophosaurus. The 1/35 Allosaurus will also be a new mold. It's a good sign that he didn't need a kickstarter for these anyways.

Very exciting news, especially that Ceratosaurus! Thanks for compiling the info avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin!

Tonight's stream covered the first gameplay of the Zoic card game that's getting its kickstarter in September. Also covered pics from the recent con, so stuff like the Acrocanthosaurus, Austroraptor, Kentrosaurus, the mammoths, and some other stuff. One of the new things not shared yet was a new version of the Razorhound armor and Fire Guard (I think), with new colors (including purple) based on the original Deinonychus Dino Riders set. It's intended to be released as a set with a Utahraptor.
