Halichoeres

This has been enlightening.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

I must admit, I'm warming up more to the Giganotosaurus, especially after seeing Halichoeres' comparison shot. I just don't know if I have the room or the budget.  :-\

I hope you mean shot, Suspsy  :o

All these pictures are making me anxious for my next paycheck; that giganotosaurus is a masterpiece despite its flaws. I really like the subtle details that put more emphasis on the overall form since some figures can have more prominent details that can sometimes distract from the figure.

Wrong topic?

Or was this meant to imply something regarding the WS Parasaurolophus?

It was actually meant to point out where WS likely got the colour pattern for their new Parasaurolophus, yes. I think it's cool to spot things like that, I once saw a picture of a museum model of Archaeopteryx with the very same colours of Papo's, I think there should be a dedicated thread for such finds. Or maybe there's one already?

Victoria's Cantina

I haven't done reviews on them quite yet, but I received my order of Feathered T-Rex, Feathered Raptor, and Diplodocus and am VERY impressed! I have a feeling I'll be ordering more of the 2017 models sooner rather than later.

Never saw it before so wrong and there is a thread already for stuff like this http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=408.msg9109#msg9109

Thanks for the link to the right thread, though I think my post is also fitting in here. I would like to clearify that my guess was in no way offensive or allusive, so I hope you didn't get offended.

It is certainly a comparison from my point of view misguided. The parasaurolophus Safari of which I am pleasantly impressed and is one of my favorite figures and that at the beginning I was not a fan of that specimen. Does not resemble at all the paleoartística recreation that has been visualized in that image.

As I say I do not look like that parasaurolophus to Doug Watson or the whites of his eyes. Watson's parasaurolophus has a totally  self-taught vision and is for me a great figure perhaps of the best that has been made of lambeosaurine hadrosaurs. What perhaps I would have liked (and that would be out of scale) is that it was of a much larger size.

Hmm, well, my Rex arrived today, and it's a lovely model, but it doesn't stand up.  Bit disappointed with that, tbh, I think it's quite a lot to pay for a model which won't even stay on its two feet.  I know it can be fixed, but honestly most buyers have neither the knowledge or the inclination to be modifying their models.

(Not suggesting at all this is the fault of the sculpture btw, but the manufacturing).

Mine can barely stand as well, only downside of this great figure.

I recently got in my fluffy tyrant lizard king, or queen (no sexism here Osborn), and...yikes.

The figure's legs warped to the point of the metal rod inside is now protruding out of a tear in the front of the ankle.

I'm getting a replacement, but I'd never received a figure in this shape before, especially not from my current lord and savior, Safari. Did/does anyone else have this issue with their figure?

CityRaptor

Is it wrong that I think that looks painful?
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Yes, in my review of the figure, a few pages back, I also reported what looked like a brass pin being visible. Mine isn't as bad as yours, though, and is also on the side instead of the front. Perhaps, the metal is not being placed in the molds correctly, thus causing the warpage we are all receiving?

My feathered T. rex wouldn't stand for more than a second or two - leg quite badly warped.  My Psittacosaurus also wouldn't stand - leg really badly warped.  I returned them to the seller and had them replaced.  In both cases it was factory related, not sculpt or packaging.  The seller made sure the two replacements stood before despatching them.  Yes, I could have played with hot/cold treatment.  But it never seems to be a permanent fix and given the relatively high price of the rex......  I'm happy now - both lovely models.  I think the T. rex model's pose it such that it needs to be a perfect specimen - there isn't much wriggle room for any part of the leg being slightly out of true.
