So far they look nice😃
I didn't get a gift box this year so I'll have to wait a long time! Haha🤣

Is it me or does the Spinosaurus look a bit crispy? Like schnitzel?

Oh. I completely ignored the fact, that it is not a Deluxe Monster. Guess i was not the only one^^ Wonderful! That makes it even better to me. A Figure that looks like it will improve a lot if given a small wash and drybrushing on top of the original Paint.

Thanks for ppsting all the Reviews here. Also great, that these Facebook links are viewable to People that do not have or use Facebook. Spinosaurus looks fine. Weird knobby scales, but maybe they stick to their "Sinosaurus" Style to still have their older Spinosaurusfigures still working. Kind of. There will be buckets of reasons a figure turns out like it is in the End. I still think, the small swimming Spino from CollectA could be somekind of juvi. I love the small swimming Spino.

The texture is pretty intense. I was thinking it looked like a churro that got left in the fryer a little too long.

I'm glad the Pteranodon is smaller, too. I like the massive pterosaurs CollectA has been making in recent years, but I just don't have the space for them.

A Spinosaurus fritter!

I'm also glad the Pteranodon is a more reasonable size. I've bought most of the larger ones because they're really nice, but they just don't go with much else I own from a scale perspective.

From the looks of the size of this one, I wonder if this would pair well alongside the Safari Ltd Pteranodon. Glad to have another figure of this pterosaur after so long (such as the now retired Bullyland one), and it isn't huge either like their supreme pterosaurs.

Agreed.

As for the Spinosaurus looking like a loaf of whole wheat bread, I have a feeling what's putting us off about it is the drybrush. It's very light relative to the base, and I think a darker wash would have had a more conventional and effective outcome, paintwise.
On and off dinosaur collecting phases over the span of millions of years has led me to this very forum.

So glad that the Cenozoic mammal (Paraceratherium) is with the earlier releases this year, compared to 2021 when the Doedicurus was a very late one. I'm also looking forward to seeing how they handle the jaw articulation in the Triceratops before pulling the trigger on it.

Paracerathrium isn't out yet; it will be a June release

Thialfi

Actually the paraceratherium and triceratops are planned for later this year. The early releases are edmontosaurus, pteranodon, spinosaurus, cooperoceras and smok.

Thanks B @bmathison1972 for the heads up!

According to Minizoo's latest newsletter, the rest of the CollectA releases are due to arrive in June.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Anyone got their figures already? Would like to see more of the Edmontosaurus.

Oh I had already seen that review. Also Andy's review on YouTube. I meant in hand pics of the actual figure as it's released, not copies that are sent specifically to reviewers. Thanks anyways.

This developing saga is interesting. I decided a while back to modify the front toes on Watson's otherwise excellent Safari Edmontosaurus along the lines of the new CollectA, BUT I think, in light of avatar_suspsy @suspsy 's modified review of the latter, to hold off for further developments. Mittens for a bit longer.

This is what I love about this hobby. Even if I miss certain developments here and there, the discussion of the models almost always succeeds at providing me with new information.

I was originally planning to skip this Edmontosaurus and instead pick up the upcoming offering from Ancestors (while also holding out for the possibility of PNSO's take). But thanks to PNSO, my appreciation for Hadrosaurids has skyrocketed and I've decided to always show my support to companies that produce models of them.

Mine should be arriving from MiniZoo soon!

I don't believe there is a difference between review copies and retail copies. If there is, I never noticed them, at least not with CollectA.

There are no differences whatsoever.

If i'm not mistaken, CollectA marketed the Edmontosaurus on their social media as having an articulated jaw like the Triceratops multiple times which is... curious. This either means they just made a mistake in marketing and the rest will also have immovable jaws, or there'll be articulated copies.

This puts the Triceratops in an odd predicament as they've shared posts with both of them being told to be "with movable jaw." So would this also share a lack of an articulated mouth?
