Triceratops (Wendy’s Exclusive from Definitely Dinosaurs by Playskool)
…s series. This figure certainly looks like what someone would assume a baby Triceratops would look like if they’d only seen baby humans. Of course, baby dinosaurs hatched from eggs, and that means they didn’t need to be smooth enough to go through a birth canal. Triceratops is a particularly good example of this, as infants had a ring of spikes around the edge of its frill, known as epipariatals, that would have gradually been absorbed into the fri…
Triceratops (Desktop model by Favorite Co. Ltd.)
…BIG 1/40 scale. The animal works out to be the size of the 2 largest known triceratopsid skulls, the Canadian Eotriceratops and BUY’s giant T. Horridus skull, both of which are nearly 9 feet (2.75 m) tall from beak to end of frill. The animal itself would be about 27 feet (8.2 m) in length, and likely exceeding 10 tons in weight. The figure is 8” (20cm) long, 3.5” (9 cm) tall, with a 3.5” (7.5 cm) long head. At 1/40 scale it is one big bruiser of…
Triceratops (Baby by CollectA)
…It’s a wonder they didn’t paint it blue to match the standard sized adult Triceratops (although they may have been trying to distance themselves from that particular model as it’s quite bad). The CollectA Triceratops Baby is halfway to a good figure, mixing accuracy with, well, ugliness. The wrinkled skin, dull colours, and poorly sculpted limbs detract from what could have been the best baby Triceratops available. I’d still say the figure is wor…
Triceratops (DINO by Lego)
…e personality to it. What’s not to like?” “I second that, Beth. Sadly, the Triceratops is the rarest of all the Lego dinosaurs. It appears in only one set, 5885: Triceratops Trapper. Anyone wanting this toy will almost certainly have to pay a substantial amount.” “Sheesh. That’s a real bummer. You’d think they’d have brought it back for the Jurassic World line. Triceratops did show up in the movie, even if it was only for a couple of short scenes….
Triceratops (2018)(Wild Safari by Safari Ltd)
…he edges of the horns and frill. The eyes are gold with black pupils. This Triceratops also has a cloaca sculpted on its underside. This figure is about 1/35 scale, which is in the same scale as the Feathered T. rex. It most likely represents Triceratops horridus, the earlier of the two species, the other being T. prorsus. The figure is over 20 cm long (over 8 inches) and about 10 cm tall (4 inches) including the horns. If you are a fan of Tricera…
Triceratops (2023)(CollectA)
…so let’s see how this one measures up. The official name for this toy is “Triceratops Confronting,” and as such, this individual is sculpted with its huge head lowered, its mouth open in an angry bellow, and its feet planted as though it is confronting another Triceratops for dominance or a hungry Tyrannosaurus rex hoping to make a kill. From the pointed tips of its massive brow horns to the end of its tail, it measures 19 cm long. With Donnybro…
Triceratops (Junior by Schleich)
…ch and wear away. Here is a comparison between the small Brachiosaurus and Triceratops from the ‘Junior’ line by Schleich, released in the same year and in the same line.(See review of the Schleich Brachiosaurus by myself here.) Overall this toy is certainly not perfect, given its age. There are plenty of other Triceratops figures out there but from my point of view the vintage, rare, and retro dinosaurs also deserve a place on a collector’s shelf…
Triceratops (Age of the Dinosaurs by PNSO)
…pose and general appearance are reminiscent of the Safari Ltd Great Dinos Triceratops, but larger and significantly more detailed. Anatomically, this brilliant Triceratops offers little to criticize. It’s not too shrinkwrapped like some of the other large PNSO models and is quite stocky. Its head is properly proportioned in size to the rest of the body. The back is nicely rounded, reaching its peak above the hips and the tail is the correct, shor…
Sterrholophus Marsh AKA Triceratops (Recur)
…oys is pretty strange, but I’ve been informed that they will be employing “Triceratops” in future. I’ll certainly be calling this toy by that name here. At slightly under 12 cm tall and 26 cm long, this 2015 Triceratops is quite a beefy brute. The main colour on its body is light green with a dark wash on the head, back, and tail. The underbelly is slightly paler and the lower halves of the limbs are darkened, as though this individual has just wa…
Triceratops (Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs by Kenner)
…d back is more accurate than on the original JP Triceratops. The skin texture consists mostly of wrinkles, but there are small scutes and a thick row of scales along the back. The surface of the frill is ridged and there are small rounded epoccipitals lining the edge. The Triceratops is articulated at the shoulders and left hip. Pulling back on the right hind leg causes the head to raise in a butting motion. Don’t underestimate this young scrapper…
Triceratops (Kabaya)
…tues produced throughout the decades, many are good but few are great. The Triceratops by Kabaya is quite a marvel and is reminiscent in style to Triceratops drawn by dinosaur illustrator David Peters. The sculpting is quite exciting. The head is great, just great. the head frill has small spikes around it with tendon-like bones coming through the skin. The three horns are a decent length, the nose has sculpted nostrils and the beaked mouth is ope…
Triceratops (Remote Controlled)(The Lost World: Jurassic Park by Toy Biz)
…JP design isn’t too far off from what is indicated by recently discovered Triceratops skin impressions. Not going into the point of whether much of the head of Triceratops was covered in keratin (which was recently proposed), we know that at least the hand position is incorrect, since ceratopsians would not have been able to pronate theirs, so the toes would not all have pointed forwards as on the elephantine feet that ceratopsians were usually d…
Triceratops (2021)(PNSO)
…model of the skull. I’m partial to ceratopsian skulls, especially that of Triceratops. The skull of the massive Triceratops prorsus on display at my beloved Los Angeles Natural History Museum is the first thing you see in their grand Dinosaur Hall, so even though it’s a different species, I enjoy it for reminding me of that. Like many recent Trikes, this figure is roughly in the 1:35 scale range (1:36 to be exact). It measures about 9.9 inches lo…
Triceratops (Battat)
…dary Battat line, created for the Boston Museum of Science, does indeed do Triceratops justice, despite being made in 1994. As if charging at an unseen Tyrannosaurus, this Triceratops is clearly actively moving, with its horns pointing straight out and the legs in mid-stride. With perfect proportions, this is a very accurate and detailed sculpt. Massively muscled thighs included, the musculature on this figure is quite well done. The only inaccura…
Triceratops Research (Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary by LEGO)
…changes to the sculpting, same articulation. It was previously reused for Triceratops Rampage in 2019 and for Triceratops Pickup Truck Ambush in 2022. Gotta be honest too, all those other ones had spiffier colours to them.” “I concur, Beth, however, this one is rather faithful to the ailing Triceratops that appeared in the film. The base colour is milk chocolate brown with lighter brown for the underbelly, claws, horns, and beak. A slightly dulle…
Triceratops (Field Museum Mold-A-Rama)
…cartoony depiction in keeping with popular depictions of the 1950’s. This Triceratops is a sturdy looking animal on squat muscular legs. The head is proportionately large and the dragging tail short with an upward curve. The skin has a pebbly texture with raised bumps along the hide. The head on this Triceratops is quite curious when viewed head on. It’s very asymmetrical with one brow horn placed in the middle of the head and the other placed lo…
Triceratops with Stegosaurus (Jurassic World Hero Mashers by Hasbro)
…hen, that they appear in the same Hero Mashers set. Ten pieces make up the Triceratops. Note how the frill and brow horns must be attached to the head, otherwise it would have been too big to fit into the narrow box! The main colour is a shade of pine green with light green horns, stripes, and spikes(!), dull orange eyes, white teeth, a pink mouth, and blue-green claws. A brown JW logo is on the right hip. When assembled, the Triceratops measures…
Triceratops (World of History by Schleich)
…be sure to read Alice’s Pentaceratops review and my Styracosaurus review). Triceratops is a very popular dinosaur, so there is no reason why I would have to introduce it to this community. Instead we will move directly to the review. This is the fourth Triceratops figure that Schleich has made so far. A couple more are on the cards for the small and mini lines this year. As with a lot of Schleich’s models, this figure has a list of anatomical prob…
Triceratops (Playmobil)
…itals, and claws, and brown eyes. Looks very reminiscent of a giraffe. The Triceratops‘ mouth opens wide, its head can move up and down, and its limbs rotate. Despite its simple design, it looks rugged and powerful. I especially like the ridges on the frill and the many epoccipitals. The blunt horns are made of soft plastic and the tip of the tail is rounded to ensure no gruesome accidents during play. Here’s the sweet little baby Triceratops. It…
Triceratops (Dinotales Series 5 by Kaiyodo)
…epoccipitals are beige. The frill has a interesting light yellow pattern that almost resembles the shape of antlers. Triceratops was also available in an alternate paint scheme that showcased a lot more pink. Other color scheme available for this Triceratops. I really like this representation of Triceratops. Its a little different from what is traditionally done yet still remains very accurate to science. If you like this kind of dinosaur or are…
