Perhaps avatar_Mironimus @Mironimus or avatar_Everything_Dinosaur @Everything_Dinosaur could chime in and say something about the quality issue, being them retailers and handling and/or dealing with those figures almost on a daily basis. They're also in touch with the company, Mike at least, so maybe they can report this straight to the source for us collectors. Am I asking too much?

avatar_Everything_Dinosaur @Everything_Dinosaur can you please shed light on this?

Killekor

It looks like the release date of this Spinosaurus is a real mystery.
Everything Dinosaur says that it will be available in June, Dan's Dinosaurs in September and Uitzershop in October!
Has someone tried to contact Papo via email or Facebook to know when it will be released?

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

I personally havn't noticed a loss in quality, but I don't have the older figures in stock anymore, so I can't compare them to the new ones.

I gave the question about the quality loss to Papo.
Let's see what Papo will answer.

There's difference in the paint application but I prefer the colors of the newer one, the other is too dark. I don't like either of them actually but the application on the yellowish one is not what people thinks of Papo figures.

Yeah I remember making a thread about this thing a while back, when I was unsure if the newer bad paint app Ankylosaurus out there was a bootleg or not. Really is a shame they do this to begin with.

Not one retailer gets them at the same time as others.

Dan's is an American retailer and they always get papo last.

Everything Dinosaur usually gets them after Urzeit and that other German retailer Modellverand or something.

Le Boutique probably gets them first since they're in France but I haven't yet seen them obtain new papos as I just learned about them a couple months back. I'll see how long it takes them.

Repeating my question: what is the chance that Amazon-USA will carry the new Spinosaurus Limited Edition?

Thanks avatar_Mironimus @Mironimus!

I prefer the older Pachycephalosaurus, the muted colours look much more naturalistic and better blended. With the newer one seems like the painter just couldn't bother with shades and applied colours as they are straight out of the tube. My issue though is more about the type of plastic, I don't think the two pachys pictured above look any different as far as materials go, but I'm sure of what I've experienced in hand and all models I've inspected in that shop really looked like bootlegs compared to pictures I've seen online. I'd rather retire the old figures instead of keep on producing them in a subpar quality, if I were in Papo's shoes.

If you mean Amazon itself I'd say zero chances. If you mean third party sellers on Amazon I'd say there are chances, but prepare yourself to some ridiculously inflated prices then. Best option is still snapping one up from the usual retailers as soon as it becomes available.

I don't think Amazon will stock it, as far as we know, only some ( that so far it looks like all) retailers will get some.

Last Papo Brown standing T.rex I got was very much inferior in paint app than the earlier releases. Also, there were a lot of "flesh" left untrimmed in the toy. I'm positive it was an original since it came from ED, but the paint app has gone downhill on Papo dinos. If they don't get their game together, that's going to be a problem in the near future, since new brands are popping up every month and some of them are equal or better than Papo, both in detail and paint application.

I notice most toys nowadays have sloppy paint app on their eyes, some even look unfinished when it comes to the body paint, like the Pachycephalosaurus. What makes a good model stand out is the level of care on the paint app, using mostly dark washes and dry brush techniques to show detail. That was Papo's main quality after detail. Now... not so much.

Ive never bought threw everything dinosaur but I'm planing on getting the new Papo spino threw there, I had emailed to reserve a spot but saw that they had it on their website and that you could add it to your cart and proceed to checkout. If I do this then does that mean my order went threw and all I have to do is wait???

If you sent them an e-mail they would have sent you one back confirming your reservation. My understanding is their reservation list is full. The new Spinosaurus shouldn't be available on their website. Would you be able to post the link here so someone could help determine what you should do?

I can't find the new Spinosaurus on their site. It's not among the Papo items they have for sale.
Where did you find it?

I think you mean Dan's Dinosaurs,don't you?

Anyways, I asked Dan about more information regarding the Spinosaurus, and he told me that he would have more information about it in the coming weeks.

This one at least looks beautifully painted. The new paint job makes the seam on the head almost invisible.
