Jurassic World featured its fair share of prehistoric creatures, and surprisingly, most of the animals that were featured in the previous three films made an appearance in some form.
Review: Ichthyosaurus-Leptonectes(Stuttgart NHM, by Bullyland)
4.3 (4 votes)
Ichthyosaurs are a well known extinct marine reptile. They first appeared in the Triassic, became very diverse by the Jurassic, and then disappeared during the Cretaceous. The ichthyosaur fossil record is well known and abundant with over 102 valid species. They have been considered a great example of convergent evolution, especially since many people compare them to dolphins and tunas.Â

After six years of waiting, Safari Ltd. has finally made a new sauropod for the Wild Safari Collection. Sauropods are the one thing I really wish Safari made more of, as the collection only had three of them, and they were gems among the rest of the collection.

Review: Copepteryx (Kaiyodo Dinotales Series 3)
5 (6 votes)
The Japanese toy company Kaiyodo isn’t afraid to tackle the obscure and one of the best examples of this would have to be the Kaiyodo Copepteryx. While other companies make and re-make the same tired old prehistoric favorites here we have Kaiyodo making a very obscure extinct bird that you’ve probably never heard of and who’s name I can never remember (maybe writing this review will fix that).

Her long, hard months of effort, of endless hunting and feeding, have come to an end. With one final push, the mother expels the baby from her womb and into a world full of danger. But if he can manage to survive and catch his own food, the little swimmer will eventually grow into the top predator of his domain.

To coincide with the home media release of Jurassic World (which just came out as of the time of this writing), I decided to collect the “Bashers and Biters” figures that were released back in May 2015.

Last year, Geoworld released their new range of ancient mammals which consist of species that were never once replicated for the prehistoric toy market, This is probably because a lot of these are basically large versions of modern day mammals, and even though they were genetically different, the general public rarely sees them as such.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it’s about time we got to reviewing more of the wide selection of Geoworld’s Jurassic Hunters prehistoric animals, and what better way to start this trend off than with a creature that hails from the Triassic?

Toys and figurines representing early hominins and human evolution in general are rare in this hobby. The few that do exist by the likes of Safari, Bullyland, and CollectA are usually poorly sculpted and poorly researched, either looking like caveman stereotypes or generic upright monkeys.

Review: Woolly Mammoth (HG Toys)

For many people, the first image they conjure up while thinking of the ice age is a large animal with shaggy fur, long curved tusks, with its trunk lifted, bellowing to its herd while crossing the icy steppe. Of course I am talking of the Woolly Mammoth, and even though there are many other fascinating species of mammoth, its the Woolly Mammoth that tends to be made into toy form.
