This review is of a resin model my parents bought me at the Smithsonian back in 2000, my very first ever woolly mammoth toy! I remember clutching her lovingly in the cafeteria as we chowed down on pizza in the museum restaurant.

As if we didn’t know, PNSO is back! So too are the BIG figures that they made their name with and had collectors sitting up and taking notice. Of the five new figures available to buy since they’ve sorted out their behind-the-scenes issues and returned to retail, two are in the upper size range and the rest in the middle range of their releases.

Carnotaurus, the meat-eating bull, was an abelisaurid theropod that has seen its rise to fame with Disney’s Dinosaur and more recently in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and probably needs no further introduction for those familiar with the blog (though for those who are new, don’t worry, it will be covered).

An updated version of the appealing Wild Republic Woolly Mammoth (and my favorite stuffed animal) is finally here! I like to call this mammoth “Ellie,” due to her girlish expression and appearance (this was also the name I gave to my first one).

“We’re living through the golden age of dinosaur discoveries.”
That was the first sentence spoken by the late and great John Hurt in the well-known 2011 BBC series Planet Dinosaur.
Since their first Kickstarter campaign back in 2016, things appear to be going very well indeed for Creative Beast Studio and their Beasts of the Mesozoic line. Their Raptor Series, which boasts a wide range of animals from Dromaeosaurus to Mononykus, has been well received by dinosaur fans the world over.

With an awful lot of Jurassic World toys being released from Mattel for 2019, I thought it would be wise to cover one of the 2018 toys that have been neglected from review so far. The subject of today’s review is this cartoonish little theropod that Mattel has dubbed a Proceratosaurus.

Well, here we are in mid-February 2019 and we have much to be grateful for (dinosaur model-wise). PNSO is back in a big way and I do mean big. After almost a year of no communication and the feeling of dread among the community that PNSO was truly done, they finally got the company back on track.
Dinosaurs can capture the public eye and get into the spot light for many reasons. Maybe they are large and powerful. Maybe they are peculiar. Or perhaps they are so common they inspire legends. Such is the way of the ‘sheep of the Cretaceous’, Protoceratops.

If you are unfamiliar with the world of Peppa Pig, I can only assume you don’t know a child who is ten or younger. It is a cartoon television program that focuses on the eponymous anthropomorphic pig and her family.
Several months ago, I had the privilege to go and see the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular. The full sized animatronic dinosaurs were a real spectacle, and Michaela Strachan did a wonderful job as the palaeontologist Huxley. I decided to grab a piece of memorabilia, so naturally, I went for a dino figure.
