Review: Prehistoric Playground Dinosaur Set (Melissa and Doug)

3.5 (8 votes)
So at is turns out, my daughter is a little bit dinosaur obsessed. Nothing crazy like the kids on the “Dino Dan” TV series that she’s watched at least three times through but obsessed enough that this dinosaur obsessed father beams with joy when she corrects grandma; “it’s not an Apatosaurus grandma, it’s a Brachiosaurus”.

Review: Explorer with Dinos (1.2.3 by Playmobil)

3.7 (6 votes)

Playmobil’s 1.2.3 line is the equivalent of Lego’s Duplo line: simpler, safer versions of their main products aimed at toddlers. When I saw that there was a dinosaur-themed set among the 2018 releases, I knew that I had to get it for my son.

Review: Ankylosaurus (Natural History Museum by Toyway)

Ankylosaurus seems to capture the imagination of children and adults alike, mainly due to its morphology. Often described as a walking tank, its osteoderms provided a most impressive defence, not to mention the power behind its solid bone club, which could instantly smash the bones of even the most ruthless predators.

Review: Ornithomimus (Jurassic Hunters by Geoworld)

Ornithomimids seem to be getting more and more popular in the realms of figures and collectibles. But of the great and diverse clade, it is surprising that Ornithomimus itself seems to be oddly absent, with few companies taking on the task of recreating this rather famous dinosaur.

Flocking this way and back into our hearts, here comes the Gallimimus, not only is it featured again in the Jurassic Park franchise’s 5th installment but it’s back on the toy shelves as well. Gallimimus has featured in all but one Jurassic Park movies to date.

The number of Triceratops models and figures can hardly be counted at this point. Every line has one, some great, some not. Here I will be examining the one from Happinet, a Japanese company, that created a series of articulated dinosaur figures, similar in certain styles to the Sega Dinosaur King line.

Welcome to my review of the Jurassic Park 1:1 Velociraptor bust by Chronicle Collectibles! She just recently arrived and she’s more gorgeous than I could have imagined. There will be no unboxing for this one because she arrived in a nondescript white box, housing her in styrofoam packaging which was neat, tight, and kept her perfectly safe.

Review: Monolophosaurus (Battle Damage)(Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom by Mattel)

Another day, another Jurassic World review. This time it’s the Walmart exclusive Battle Damage Monolophosaurus that comes with the T. rex I reviewed not too long ago. For those who are new to the community and not up to speed on your dinosaurs, Monolophosaurus was a species of theropod dinosaur that is named after a large crest on its head.

Review: Dilophosaurus (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Attack Pack by Mattel)

2.9 (15 votes)
Despite its many inaccuracies the Dilophosaurus in the original Jurassic Park was one of my favorite dinosaurs in the entire franchise. Fanciful yes, Spielberg deliberately altered the Dilophosaurus for his film for an added punch, and being the master movie director that he is, it worked.

Review: Gentle Giants Petting Zoo (Jurassic World by Lego Duplo)

“Good day, fellow dinosaur lovers! Time once again to delve deep into the world of Lego with yours truly, Dr. Bella Bricking, along with the indispensable Beth Buildit! And how is little Bronwyn today, Beth?”

“She’s just fine, Doc. Although I’m still not sure my sister would be cool with all this.”

“Stuff and nonsense, Beth, she’s going to have a perfectly lovely adventure just like last time!

It is a warm sunny day and you are walking across your backyard enjoying the comfort of the warming rays upon your skin.  You suddenly feel a chill run up your spine, as you have a sudden sensation of being watched.

The murky pond lays silently in the riparian forest of the Late Devonian, 365 mya. Dragonfly like insects soar and hunt for smaller airborne relatives, their quiet buzzing is the only sound disturbing the lethargic scene. A pair of those hunters engages is their distinct mating ritual, the “heart”.
