Before we begin the review, I would like to thank the generous folks over at ToyMonster for reaching out and sending me a large selection of Captivz figures. Although I was told that I don’t have to review them all I’m going to do my best to get through them anyway, so prepare yourselves for a lot of Captivz reviews in the coming months!

If David Silva of Creative Beast Studio could be summed up in a single word, I think that word would be “ambitious.” In addition to his ongoing Beasts of the Mesozoic and Cyberzoic series, he has made the following announcement:

Toy manufacturers don’t think that people are interested in scientific accuracy, but Eons and Creative Beast Studio know otherwise!

Deinonychus was perhaps the most noticeable omission from the Beasts of the Mesozoic Raptor Series, but it will soon be available in all its feathery glory! Check out these images of the 1/18 scale painted prototype.

July 1 is Canada Day, so today we shall be taking a gander at one of the most famous Canadian dinosaurs, Gorgosaurus. I do believe that Gorgosaurus was the second tyrannosaur I ever learned about after Tyrannosaurus rex, courtesy of an illustration in a Dover colouring book that I had when I was but a wee lad.

Creative Beast has released the catalog shots of the Cyberzoic Achillobator. Decked out in Fire Clan armour and ridden by a Fire Guard, it looks like one scary customer!

And don’t forget that the armour can be reconfigured into a relentless Razorhead robot!

Review: Giganotosaurus (Jurassic World: Dominion, Hammond Collection by Mattel)

Opinions about Jurassic World: Dominion and its Giganotosaurus design aside, if you wanted a decent action figure of this animal upon the film’s release, you were SOL. Mattel only released one Giganotosaurus in the mainline and although it had some cool action features it resembled the animal in the movie about as much as the movie animal resembled the real Giganotosaurus.

Here’s a pretty nifty new addition to the Jurassic Park ’93 Classic series: the Tyrannosaurus rex Off-Road Tracker Pack.

As you can plainly see, this latest tyrant lizard has a noticeably unique head sculpt. Between that and the colour scheme, it’s clearly a homage to the Jurassic Park Series 2 Young T.
