When it comes to TV shows, a chance to make merchandise and thus more money is a major point. With the success of the Doctor Who figures based on the series, ITV’s own time travel based show, Primeval, attempted the same. It ran for the first two series, but no further.

Hesperornis is an extinct genus of flightless aquatic birds that lived during the late Cretaceous. Fossils have been found in Kansas and Canada. The first fossils had been dug out by Othniel C. Marsh himself during the famous “Bone Wars”. Hesperornis, a lesser-known discovery from that era, could reach 1,5m or even a little more in length.

Primeval was a show on ITV a few years back that was known for having atrociously shrink-wrapped dinosaurs and that weirdly tusked Kaprosuchus. While it did have some truly horrific dinosaurs, the best of the show’s creatures were the original ones, such as the terrifying super-evolved bat, the future predator, and this guy.
