Review: Stegosaurus (Haolonggood)

Genus: Brand: Classification: , Age: Type: Scale: ,

I’ve been in the dinosaur collecting hobby for about 14 years now and this hobby has evolved rapidly within that time. In 2010 most collectors were content to just get good models of their favorite genera. Nowadays, a figure of a genus isn’t enough, collectors want dinosaurs identifiable at the species level.

Review: Monolophosaurus (Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, Epic Evolution Strike Attack by Mattel)

Genus: Brand: , Classification: Age: Type: Scale:

3.2 (27 votes)

Even before Monolophosaurus was featured in Camp Cretaceous, Mattel was making toys of them and they started pumping them out with the first wave of Jurassic World toys in 2018. Since then, they’ve produced at least nine of them, maybe more.

Review: Gallimimus (Jurassic Park, Hammond Collection by Mattel)

Genus: Brand: , Classification: , Age: Type: Scale: ,

3.5 (22 votes)

Flocking off toy shelves and into our hearts and homes, it’s the Hammond Collection Galli-Galli-Gallimimus. As part of the Hammond Collection this figure boasts 13 points of articulation and an increased level of paint and fine detail not seen with the Mattel mainline toys.

Review: Yangchuanosaurus (Jurassic World: Dominion, Massive Action by Mattel)

Genus: Brand: , Classification: , Age: Type: Scale:

3.9 (17 votes)

Yangchuanosaurus is a genus of metriacanthosaurid that lived during the middle and late Jurassic in China. In appearance it would have looked very much like Allosaurus. Yangchaunosaurus shows up in the collectable market periodically and several figures represent the species, including the Safari Dinosaurs of China figure and a recent model by PNSO.

Review: Woolly rhinoceros (AAA)

Genus: , Brand: Classification: Age: Type: Scale:

2.9 (11 votes)
Everyone familiar with Pleistocene fauna is familiar with the woolly rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquitatis), a large shaggy rhino that lived in Eurasia and died out at the end of the Ice Age. It is often reproduced in toy form, only less so that the more popular mammoths and Smilodon.
