CollectA continues to impress with the reveal of ten new prehistoric products for 2023, several of which have never appeared in figure form before! Of particular note is Koolasuchus, as it is not only the first prehistoric amphibian from CollectA, but the first prehistoric amphibian from any company in years!

CollectA’s exciting line up for 2017 includes one ‘supreme’ model, four ‘deluxe’ models, and five standard models, so their relentless trend of releasing bucket-loads of new dinosaur toys each year continues! CollectA’s categories refer to their scale: ‘deluxe’ models are larger and more detailed than standard models, and the ‘supreme’ models are larger still.

Despite the sad retirement of their long-respected and trend-setting Carnegie Collection this year, Safari Ltd have shown no signs of slowing down with their other major prehistoric animal line – Wild Safari. The company has five brand new for 2016 prehistoric animal sculpts in the pipeline: four dinosaurs and one marine reptile.

I usually post about CollectA’s new figures towards the end of the year preceding release, so better late than never! However, in this case, the delay has been rewarded, because since revealing most of their upcoming 2015 releases at the end of 2014, CollectA squeezed a few more figures into their lineup in January 2015.
News: Upcoming releases from Schleich (New for 2015)

It seems that all of the Schleich releases planned for next year are known and the line up for 2015 is now looking quite extensive. On their Facebook page Schleich are still officially trying to tease us about what they have in store, so most of this information comes from unofficial leaks, I guess.

This news comes a little earlier in the year than usual, but maybe that’s because these figures will all be released late in 2014, just in time for Christmas. These early images come from a PDF version of a “2015 New Product Guide” by Safari Ltd, which was posted as low resolution images on Facebook by a dealer based in Sweden.
News: Upcoming releases from Bullyland (New for 2014)

We’ve had a good ogle at the upcoming (or already released) 2014 dinosaur figures from Papo, Schleich, Safari Ltd, and CollectA, but there’s another well-known long-standing dinosaur toy-producing company who are serving up some new offerings this year. We wouldn’t want to miss out on German company, Bullyland!

So, CollectA have done it yet again! They’ve announced more 2014 figures than you can shake a cycad leaf at. So, as has become dinotoyblog tradition, let’s summarise the news here for posterity. The 12 new prehistoric critter models being released by CollectA this year, are, in alphabetical order:
Arsinoitherium
Arsinoitherium
Bistahieversor
Carcharodontosaurus
Gastonia
Ichthyovenator with fish
Mosasaurus
Quetzalcoatlus with baby sauropod
Saurophaganax
Stegosaurus corpse
Therizinosaurus
Tyrannosaurus juvenile
Xenoceratops
Some of these look smashing, but I’ll reserve commenting on these figures until they are released and reviewed properly on the dinotoyblog.
News: Upcoming releases from Papo (New for 2014)

This is little more than a formality at this stage as most readers will already be aware of Papo’s new dinosaurian additions for 2014. However, it doesn’t hurt to quickly recap what we have in store this year. Papo will produce three new standard figures for 2014 as well as a set of six miniature figures.
News: Upcoming releases from Schleich (New for 2014)

When it comes to dinosaur lines, Schleich have been a bit of a let down in recent years. Not only have they retired a large proportion of their prehistoric animal figures, their most recent sculpts have been ugly and anatomically incorrect. The sort of toys that wouldn’t seem out of place in a bargain bin of ‘Made in China’ ‘Chinasaurs’.

It has become an annual dinotoyblog tradition, around this time of year, to post an overview of each toy company’s upcoming dinosaur figures. So, here we go again, starting with Safari Ltd.
