Hailing from the Early Cretaceous of Niger, is one of my favorite theropod dinosaurs, the spinosaurid Suchomimus. Mattel released a wonderful figure of this animal earlier this year, in the short lived Jurassic World Chaos Theory line (which was like a filler line until the Rebirth toys released in the summer). It is based on one of several color variants...
Before we begin the review, I would like to thank the generous folks over at ToyMonster, for sending me this figure to share with the blog.
With the second season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory having just dropped it seemed like a good time to share one of the show’s starring theropods, the Suchomimus. Fans of this early Cretaceous spinosaur...
PNSO delivered one last surprise for collectors at the very end of 2022, delivering their 67th entry into the Prehistoric Animal lineup with a highly anticipated, superb new rendition of the most complete spinosaurid to date.
The 1990s and 2000s were a boon for paleontology in the southern hemisphere. New discoveries from South America, China, and Africa were shaking up...
We return once more to the DinoWaurs Survival blind bag line, and we begin with a story to illustrate an issue with blind bags of any kind. I decided to try buying in bulk, with the hope of avoiding duplicates. One of the first figures I pulled was a Suchomimus. Now, I was quite pleased with this, as I didn’t...

Ever since its discovery in 1997, Suchomimus has never had any difficulty shying away from the public eye, even appearing in the Warpath: Jurassic Park video game only 11 months after it was officially named in November 1998. It has since appeared in other JP games as well as documentaries,...
The first time I ever heard of Suchomimus was when I saw Jurassic Park 3 and the character Billy said, “It’s a super-predator: Suchomimus, “then Billy uses his hand and mimics the length of the snout and finishes by saying, “the snout.” The Suchomimus, which means “crocodile mimic” definitely had a pronounced and interesting snout that in a...
Suchomimus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived a few million years before one of it’s famous cousins, Spinosaurus. Considering how it’s closely related to such a famous dinosaur, I’m surprised more replicas of this really cool dinosaur haven’t been produced.
This Suchomimus by kaiyodo is easily the best on currently available. The sculpt itself is very good. It’s very...
Suchomimus is believed to have been a large piscivorous theropod, related to the extremely large Spinosaurus. Despite Suchomimus being relatively well known to dinosaur enthusiasts, it is usually not made in PVC form, in favor of Baryonyx. So, even though this toy has some flaws, it is still nice to see one in plastic.
To the toy. At first glance,...
Cheap and cheerful. I think these two words pretty much sum up the dinosaur figures produced by Chap Mei. They are quite unusual, like a cross between Hasbro’s Jurassic Park action figures and, umm, I’m not sure – something else. Barney the Dinosaur?
Chap Mei dinosaurs come in plenty of different packages – this Suchomimus came in ‘Dinosaur Safari’ packaging...
