Following up on my previous review, now I’ll look at the second Animal Adventure by Takara Tomy toy in my collection: the Tyrannosaurus rex. This dinosaur needs no introduction so let’s just get on with the review!

Colorata’s first dinosaur set doesn’t hold up perfectly to modern science, but overall these are nicely made figures good for both play and display.
There seem to be regrettably few quality dinosaur playsets on the market these days, be it for adult collectors or kids.

Ever since Tyrannosaurus rex was described back in 1905, this amazing animal has captured our imaginations.  Its not hard to see why. It was one of the largest land carnivores of all time and it had a huge skull with bone crushing jaws. Â

Here’s a toy that many of you will no doubt recognize. It probably doesn’t stand on too many collectors’ shelves today but certainly helped fill a lot of toy boxes in the 80’s and 90’s. Yes, you could call this a Chinasaur but you could also call it retro, vintage, and nostalgic.

If you’re reading this review, then it’s likely that you have at least heard of FMNH PR 2081, AKA “Sue.” It is one of the largest and most complete specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex to date, with a length of 12.3 metres and an estimated weight of nine tons.

In 2016, a new brand of toys came onto the dinosaur collecting scene, with a huge selection in their Ancient Animals line. Recur, and its parent company Ankyl Toys Co. Ltd., has been around for a while, but only recently have their products have been revealed to the public (presumably for the first time outside of China).
