No childhood collection of dinosaurs is complete without a large sauropod, and Tyco’s Diplodocus certainly fit the bill during the late 80’s. Originally sold among the Dino-Riders toy line as Diplodocus, it would later be remarketed under the Smithsonian line as Apatosaurus.

Review: Diplodocus repaint 2020 (CollectA)

Diplodocus is one of the most famous and iconic dinosaurs and has been around for some time now. Its graceful form is easily recognizable so it has become one of the staple species in pop culture, from merchandise and films. With that, information about it already saturate the forum as well as the blogosphere so we can skip all that.

This Diplodocus figure we are reviewing today is a repaint of CollectA’s first version that was released way back in 2013 if I remember correctly. This figure is in a rearing pose; a pose made iconic by the legendary Battat Diplodocus way back in the mid 1990’s and has yet to be surpassed despite a few attempts through the years from various brands.

Review: Discover Dinosaurs: Dino Jurassic Vol. 3 (Colorata)

3.9 (8 votes)
With Colorata’s new Paleozoic collection out in 2018, I think I’m overdue on this look at one of their earlier prehistoric sets: Volume 3 of their dinosaur series. Although this set has its share of flaws, Colorata’s 3rd dinosaur volume – and first focused on Jurassic fauna – still offers plenty for dino fans to appreciate.

The objective of many lines of dinosaur figures (aside from making money) is to educate children and adults alike about extinct animals. In the last ten years, many lines have been integrated with modern technology to give children more information on dinosaurs besides a 3D view of these animals.

Greetings DinoWaurriors! Today we are looking at another gem of the line, not just because of the great look, but also due to the fact that this is the only figure of the species, at least as of writing this. Here, we investigate DinoWaurs Dorygnathus, a relative of Rhamphorhynchus from the Jurassic of Bavaria.

Review: Eurhinosaurus (Prehistoric Animal Models by PNSO)

During the Toarcian age of the Lower Jurassic, early sauropods like Tazoudasaurus and early thyreophorans like Emausaurus were walking around on land. In the ocean, hildoceratid and dactylioceratid ammonites, plesiosaurs, and marine crocodiles were swimming around. It was also the heyday of ichthyosaurs, one of which was the large, long-snouted Eurhinosaurus longirostris (loosely, “long-beaked lizard well-equipped in the nose department”).

Review: Europasaurus (Bullyland)

Europasaurus holgeri is a basal macronarian sauropod. It lived during the Late Jurassic (middle Kimmeridgian, about 154 million years ago) of northern Germany, and has been identified as an example of insular dwarfism resulting from the isolation of a sauropod population on an island within the Lower Saxony basin.

The subject of my review today has been previously reviewed here, but the review in question seems to have been removed, so I decided to do a new one myself. The toy I’m going to review is none other than the much loathed CollectA Eustreptospondylus.

Review: Feathered Dinos Tube (Safari Ltd)

4 (21 votes)
Safari Ltd have produced several tubes (or ‘toobs’ as they call them) that contain a diverse selection of mini-dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. These tubes are a great choice for the indecisive amongst us. Why pick one single large dinosaur when you can get an entire tube of small dinosaurs for the same price.
