Greetings DinoWaurriors! Today we are looking at another gem of the line, not just because of the great look, but also due to the fact that this is the only figure of the species, at least as of writing this. Here, we investigate DinoWaurs Dorygnathus, a relative of Rhamphorhynchus from the Jurassic of Bavaria.

“We’re living through the golden age of dinosaur discoveries.”
That was the first sentence spoken by the late and great John Hurt in the well-known 2011 BBC series Planet Dinosaur. The line haven’t lost its meaning since.
With a lot of companies that produce prehistoric animal figures, you can often get a lot of repetition of familiar species, or focus on large dinosaurs. Very few decide to make figures of the less familiar or smaller creatures that shared their world with the terrible lizards.
Europasaurus holgeri is a basal macronarian sauropod. It lived during the Late Jurassic (middle Kimmeridgian, about 154 million years ago) of northern Germany, and has been identified as an example of insular dwarfism resulting from the isolation of a sauropod population on an island within the Lower Saxony basin.
Excalibosaurus lived during the early Jurassic about 190 million years ago and at 22 feet (7 meters) long, it was a decent sized fellow. Looking much like a modern sword fish, it was named after the sword Excalibur of Autherian legend. This marine reptile is characterized by the extreme elongation of the rostrum, in which the lower jaw is a quarter shorter in length then the upper jaw.
Even amongst collectors Yowie isn’t a well known company I dare say, so here’s a short introduction… Yowie is an Australian publishing brand that developed the mythical Yowie kingdom with stories and toys concentrating mostly on the Australian fauna. In the mid 90’s Yowie approached the British confectionery company Cadbury with the idea to market the toys with sweets as a vehicle.
I am always impressed when toy lines, no matter how big or small, creates figures of species rarely seen or never before seen on the market. The Jurassic World/Park has done this several times, and continues to do so. Here, we are looking at one such recent example, Gasosaurus, a theropod from the Mid-Jurassic of Sichuan, and honours the gasoline company that found the fossil sight.
