Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Rainbow Running Version by Papo)

Since its release in 2012, Papo’s Running Tyrannosaurus rex has become immensely popular with dinosaur enthusiasts. Its fearsome visage has popped in multiple books and magazines, and it has even crashed a few weddings! Not surprisingly then, Papo released this very colourful repaint in mid-2016.

In my last review, we looked at the Tsukuda Styracosaurus. Today, we will look at another classic favourite from the same line. Without a doubt, the most famous dinosaur of all time is Tyrannosaurus rex.

Quick! Name a Triassic dinosaur. Odds are you thought of Coelophysis, or perhaps you intentionally named a different one just to be clever, but Coelophysis may yet be the most famous of the lot.

It had to happen sooner or later and by that, I mean high-end Jurassic Park/World collectibles for us serious JP fans. After the extremely lacklustre offerings by Hasbro in the past year, someone had to lift up our spirits.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (2006)(CollectA)

CollectA nowadays is widely considered one of the top makers of high quality prehistoric toys, as demonstrated by their very awesome 2017 assortment. But that certainly wasn’t always the case. For this review, I’ll be taking another trip back in time to 2006, the year of CollectA’s humble beginning.

Review: Velociraptor (Wild Safari by Safari Ltd.)

Genus: Brand: , Classification: , Age: Type:

For a long time now, too long in fact, various collectable dinosaur companies have tried and failed to make a properly feathered and accurate representation of one of the world’s most popular dinosaurs; Velociraptor and its kin the stem-birds we call dromaeosaurs or “raptors.” When I first started collecting dinosaur toys the best representations included those by Bullyland and CollectA and while we commend their efforts to popularize feathered dinosaurs they ultimately failed to make convincing looking animals.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Adult and Baby)(Wild Safari by Safari Ltd)

With Wild Safari having released an absolutely stellar assortment for 2017, I thought it would be both amusing and humbling to take a trip back in time to when the line was widely perceived as being strictly for kids and inferior to the now-defunct Carnegie Collection.

Review: Zhuchengtyrannus vs Sinoceratops (Favorite Co. Ltd)

Review and photos by Triceratops83, edited by Suspsy
The Favorite Zhuchengtyrannus and Sinoceratops come packaged in a boxed set for the Fukui Dinosaur Museum in Japan. They are sculpted by Favorite’s premiere artist, Kazunari Araki. Both of these dinosaurs are only known from fragmentary remains, so the scale is a bit iffy, but they fit in well enough with other 1:40 figures (or possibly slightly smaller).

Ever since someone reviewed a Boley Dilophosaurus, I began to rethink exactly what is open for reviewing on this blog. I thought I would test the waters by reviewing one of my cheap “Chinasaurs” brand dinosaurs that I have been buying every time I go to the local vegetable or fruit festivals, whenever they are available.
