Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Dinoland by Sinclair)

Sinclair’s unique figurine was probably one of the finest renditions of the tyrant lizard king a child could ever hope to own in 1964, and remains a delightful piece of vintage memorabilia to this day.

In 1933, in conjunction with the Chicago World’s Fair, Sinclair Oil company commissioned an exhibit of life-sized dinosaur models for display.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Dinosaur King by Sega)

As per the introductory convention, I should probably mention how T. rex is a popular dinosaur rarely done well, and the animal’s pop culture significance, and all that stuff. Sod it, though –  just look at this beauty. That’s some serious tyrannosaur sexiness.

A little background: this model is rather scarce these days, and the specimen shown is not actually mine.

60 fearsome teeth, each the size of a banana lining the jaws; two tiny fingers on each arm; a big head; and a long tail to balance the body? What dinosaur species is this? Every dinosaur fan will be able to answer this question: of course, it is the almighty Tyrannosaurus rex, everyone’s favourite dinosaur!

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Dinosaurs in the Wild by IVS Group Ltd.)

4.2 (21 votes)

Have you ever dreamed of visiting a theme park that featured up-do-date, scientifically accurate (or as close to accurate as one can get) dinosaurs as opposed to tired old movie monsters? Well, that may never come to pass for real, but Dinosaurs in the Wild comes pretty danged close.

Review: Tyrannosaurus Rex (DinoTales series 7 by Kaiyodo)

Tyrannosaurus rex was a large theropod dinosaur that lived in north america from 68 to 65 million years ago. “Rex” is commonly called the “king of the dinosaurs”, so it surprises me how many models do not do justice to the “king”. This piece by Kaiyodo does it justice, and more.

Chap Mei is well known for producing cheap, slightly over-the-top dinosaur toys to be sold under a wide variety of labels. They can currently be found at Toys R Us as part of the Animal Planet toyline.

Here we have Chap Mei’s electronic Tyrannosaurus rex.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Epic Roarin’)(Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous by Mattel)

Back in 2018, I noted in the conclusion of my very first review of a Jurassic World toy by Mattel that they had managed to scoop up the ball and make a slam dunk after Hasbro fumbled badly. Nearly three years later, I’d say that assessment has been fully vindicated.

The Tyrannosaurus rex is the undisputed face of the Jurassic Park franchise. As such, almost every JP toyline has had one to offer, and Mattel’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is no exception, with three main T.

Hello, DinoToyBlog readers! Back in 2018, I took a look at the then brand-new Extreme Chompin’ Tyrannosaurus rex from Mattel. Now, six years later, I return with a look at one of its now numerous variants. There have been over 20 different T.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Feathered Deluxe by CollectA)

Having gorged himself on flesh and liver of hadrosaur, the sovereign rises to his full height. He raises his fiery red crest, opens his blood-streaked jaws, and bellows a warning to the landscape. He then retreats to a shady grove a short distance away. As he settles down to rest, his dark eyes remain fixed on his half-eaten kill.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Fingerlings Untamed by WowWee)

Genus: Brand: , Classification: , Age: Type:

Fingerlings is a toy line that consists of electronic animal figures that fit onto a child’s finger and respond to touch and sound with movement and sound of their own. Most of them are designed to look as cute and lovable as possible, but the Untamed subline is clearly aimed at children who prefer their organisms scary, violent, and prehistoric.
