This time around, I have the pleasure of reviewing one of my favorite dinosaur toys as a kid: the Psittacosaurus from Playskool’s Definitely Dinosaurs line. I remember carrying this one around everywhere.

In a nutshell, Edmontosaurus could be described as one of the larger species of hadrosaur, with adults ranging from 9 to 12 meters long and weighing in at about 4 metric tons, with a very wide distribution across western Canada and the U.S.

In what will one day be known as the Southern United States, vast herds of dinosaurs once roamed this desolate and hauntingly beautiful landscape.Large and small dinosaurs dotted the landscape, some moving in large herd while others like the huge sauropod Alamosaurus tower over them as they slowly make their way across the plains.

Review: Triceratops (Repaint)(Wendy’s Exclusive from Definitely Dinosaurs by Playskool)

Review and photos by Charles Peckham, edited by Suspsy

The Wendy’s Triceratops that Definitely Dinosaurs put out in 1988 was a very odd, scientifically implausible little toy. Still, in my humble opinion, it had panache. The foremost reason for this was its striking neon colour choices.

Review: Tyrannosaurus and Diplodocus (H.S. Brumm)

4.6 (5 votes)

This may be the first review of peweter figures on this blog and if those peculiar kind of figures are really toys may be a point to discuss – not least because of their lead content – but they are indeed models and so here we are.

As far as uniqueness and spectacular ornamentation, Amargasaurus has held the distinction among sauropods as the one that stood out the most. But a recently discovered is about to challenge that title, and prove that there are many more bizarre dinosaurs out there just waiting to be discovered.

The badlands of Patagonia are today one of the world’s hot spot for new and unique dinosaur discoveries. In 2010 Argentine scientist discovered fossil remains of a medium size sauropod.

Review: Parasaurolophus (Marx)

Carrying on with our series of Marx reviews next up is that most popular of ornithopods, Parasaurolophus. Like the previously reviewed Styracosaurus this figure is part of the Second Series Mold Group, PL-1083. This mold group was the most recent and last from Marx, produced in 1961.

It’s been a long time since I’ve submitted a review to the DTB, and I’m back with something rather unusual. Zuru is a company that makes novelty, largely animal-themed toys that are a sizable presence among toy aisles at most brick and mortar department stores.

It’s no secret, finding subjects to review for the DTB has become somewhat of a challenge over the last several years. Nearly every figure by all the major players has been reviewed or has a review in the works; Safari Ltd., Carnegie, Papo, CollectA, PNSO, Battat, Invicta, Tyco, and the list goes on.

It’s no secret that Papo has always been “inspired” by pop culture depictions of dinosaurs. This isn’t unique, even companies like Safari and CollectA occasionally copy designs and color schemes from time to time. Still, no one does it as frequently and blatantly as Papo.
