When ever I hear the theme from Jurassic Park it send chills down my spine and puts a smile on my face. That is the power of music combined with the nostalgic feelings that I have for the original Jurassic Park movie.  Ever since the original movie release, the franchises movies, music, and toys have had there ups and downs.

With the Jurassic World license now in the hands of people who actually care about the toys they make, we now have a large selection of toys that (so far) have proven to be a massive improvement over the poorly designed dreck that Hasbro has created for the last film in the series.

The Tyrannosaurus rex is the undisputed face of the Jurassic Park franchise. As such, almost every JP toyline has had one to offer, and Mattel’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is no exception, with three main T.

“How do you do, fellow dinosaur lovers? Dr. Bella Bricking and Beth Buildit here once again to bring you another prehistoric review from the land of Lego. This one is particularly special, as it is our first Duplo review! Duplo, as many of you know, is geared towards children ages 1 1/2 to 5 years of age, and as such consists of bricks twice the height, width, and length of standard Lego bricks.

To paraphrase the character Gray’s signature catchphrase, “We need more teeth!” Following Hasbro’s lackluster attempt with Jurassic World‘s prehistoric marine monster, dinosaur toy collectors of all ages agreed that, “We need a better Mosasaurus toy!”

As we have already seen in previous reviews, Mattel has vastly succeeded where Hasbro failed.

This isn’t your normal Tyrannosaurus rex. This isn’t a huge T. rex, a giant T. rex or a extra-large T. rex. This is the Super COLOSSAL Tyrannosaurus rex!

For those living under a rock, the “Indoraptor” is the primary antagonist creature in the upcoming film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Like its predecessor, the Indominus rex from the previous film, this creature is a genetically-engineered hybrid, and while the base genome is (presumably) a dromeaosaur, it is not a representation of any known dinosaur species.

So, the time has come to review my first Jurassic World toy from Mattel. I have chosen the Battle Damage Tyrannosaurus rex that comes with a Monolophosaurus, which is exclusive to Walmart in North America.

Back in December 2017, the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released and fan favorite Carnotaurus was there in all its glory . . . only to get wrecked by the other fan favorite from this franchise, the Tyrannosaurus rex.

For the first time in Jurassic Park‘s history, Mattel now has the license from Universal to create toys for this franchise after Hasbro and Kenner had it for years before. No doubt Hasbro’s disappointing attempt at the previous toy line for Jurassic World (featuring screw holes on the sides of the figures, permanent flesh wounds on most, no sense of scale, and poor quality control) was the push that was needed to hand the reigns over to someone else.

As you all know by now, The Jurassic World toys by Hasbro were a bust. Speaking personally, I didn’t buy a single Hasbro Jurassic World toy. I wanted to, but they utterly failed to impress. That’s all ancient history now that Mattel holds the Jurassic World license.
