When it comes to ornithopods, the only one that ever seems to get a toy is Parasaurolophus. It is therefore no surprise that the only ornithopod that has graced the Schleich World of History collection is this classic hadrosaur.

Hypsilophodon was a tasty little morsel for vacationing and local carnivorous animals during the early Cretaceous. It is believed the Hypsilophodon would have been very fast and nimble. Along with its small size; it was probably a hard catch for the predators, un-like many of us today, Cretaceous predators probably did not like the idea of fast food.

I picked this creature up while on holiday in Spain. This particular specimen was sold as a specially packaged El Corte Inglés edition. CollectA has been steadily making better and better models and this ‘deluxe’ 1:40 scale version of Parasaurolophus is no exception!

Parasaurolophus is perennial favorite among children and adults. It is one of the most recognizable Hadrosaurid to the general public. 75 million years ago, in what is now North America, it was part of a diverse family of Cretaceous herbivore dinosaurs known for their bizarre and strange head adornments.

One of two releases by Bullyland for 2014, this new Lambeosaurus is a lovely addition to their line. I picked up mine as a souvenir from a museum shop in Germany, which reminded me how much more meaningful it can be to select and purchase figures in person.

“I don’t like it.” This statement was said in a matter in fact voice by my three-year old who loves all dinosaur/prehistoric toys. We were on the CollectA website just browsing the current crop of prehistoric creatures, with my son repeating the words “I like it, and “let’s get it,” as we scroll from dinosaur to dinosaur.

Call me strange, but this is really my favorite new release for 2013. Only Safari Ltd. has the stones to tackle the often-overlooked hadrosaurine (or saurolophine, if you’re keeping up with the times) dinosaurs, with an excellent Edmontosaurus replica being foremost in recent memory.

I do not know the exact history of this lovely lifesize Corythosaurus baby, the very proud of my collection. I bought it at a flea market in Münster four or so years ago. I had recognized it as at least related to the models of the Dinosaurierpark in Münchehagen, but I was more than just a little irritated to find such an item on a flea market.
