It was a truly sad day for the entire dinosaur toy community when Battat Terra sculptor Dan LoRusso passed away in 2015. He was immensely talented, meticulous in his research, and most importantly of all, friendly and kind. At the time of his death, he had begun working on sculpts of Majungasaurus, Plateosaurus, and Yutyrannus for the Terra line.

My fellow collectors, the future is now. The long-awaited first wave of ceratopsians from Beasts of the Mesozoic by Creative Beast Studios has arrived. There were some delays due to the unfortunate event that is the current pandemic, but our wait was worth it.

Review: Centrosaurus apertus (juvenile) (Beasts of the Mesozoic Ceratopsian series)
The release of the ceratopsian line by David Silva meant a chance to get animals that are rarely made by toy companies, at least under modern names and details. I was pleased with the number of rare or even unique species, most of all Centrosaurus, which I ended up getting from the kickstarter.

Review and photos by Bernie Brontosaurus, edited by Suspsy
Hello, my DTB handle is Bernie Brontosaurus and although I have been a fan of the site for years, this is the first time I have ever submitted a review. There are so many awesome regular reviewers for this site, I didn’t think I would be needed!

Review and photographs by Shenuday the Great, edited by Suspsy
By now, most dinosaur fans have probably watched the new Netflix series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Like many viewers, it seems, I was pleasantly surprised by the show. I was, of course, equally excited by the new toys being produced by Mattel for the show.

Review: Anomalocaris (The Great Old Sea by Takara Tomy A.R.T.S.)
Review and photos by bmathison1972, edited by Suspsy
Today we are looking at Anomalocaris canadensis from the 2020 Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. set called The Great Old Sea. It is one of three figures in the set; the others being the trilobite Olenoides serratus and a coelacanth (which I presume is extant?).
Review: Mosasaurus (Jurassic World Snap Squad by Mattel)
By and large the Snap Squad toys by Mattel have been frustratingly difficult to find. Nearly a year ago I managed to find a few at Wal-Mart, and foolishly didn’t buy them all. That was the first time I ever saw them “in the wild” and I wouldn’t see them again until April 2020, when for some reason they showed up at Aldi of all places.
