I was born in the early 90's, and some of my favorite prehistoric animals were molded by how I was introduced to them, such as Jurassic Park, BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs, Disney's Dinosaur, and more. Aside from my love of dinosaurs, I also really enjoy collecting and learning about other prehistoric animals across the span of time. Some of my favorite prehistoric animals include Anomalocaris, Carnotaurus, Deinonychus, Dimetrodon, Diplocaulus, Dunkleosteus, Parasaurolophus, Smilodon, Styracosaurus, Yutyrannus (in A-Z order), and plenty more. Some of my favorite figures within my personal collection include the 2016 Favorite Ltd Mini Model Cambrian Creatures set, 2018 Mattel Jurassic World Carnotaurus, 2020 Beasts of the Mesozoic Styracosaurus, 2020 Safari Ltd Deinonychus, 2021 PNSO Parasaurolophus, 2022 PNSO Deinocheirus, and the 2023 Beasts of the Mesozoic Yutyrannus, and that's just a small sample. Aside from working on reviews for the blog here, I also contribute to the DinoToyCollector website rather frequently, and various guides on the DinoToyForum. And when I'm not doing those things, I might be working on my Skyrim mods (or for other games).

Back in December 2017, the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released and fan favorite Carnotaurus was there in all its glory . . . only to get wrecked by the other fan favorite from this franchise, the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Review: Velociraptor “Blue” (Battle Damage)(Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom by Mattel)

For the first time in Jurassic Park‘s history, Mattel now has the license from Universal to create toys for this franchise after Hasbro and Kenner had it for years before. No doubt Hasbro’s disappointing attempt at the previous toy line for Jurassic World (featuring screw holes on the sides of the figures, permanent flesh wounds on most, no sense of scale, and poor quality control) was the push that was needed to hand the reigns over to someone else.

My next review for the 1/6 scale Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series will focus on the Amber Nestlings pack. Currently there are three Nestlings packs available in amber, black, and grey color schemes. There are also prototypes for a White Nestlings pack, but those are not available yet.

Back in January I received the first batch of figures from the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series 1/6 scale action figure Kickstarter, namely the ‘Nestlings’ and ‘Accessory Packs’, of which the Mononychus and Troodon have been reviewed (the latter by yours truly).

Review: Troodon in Mountains Environment Accessory Pack (Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series by Creative Beast Studio)

It has been a long wait, but a worthwhile one. The Mountains Environment Accessory Pack is just one of many from the 1/6th scale Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series line, created by David Silva. It offers the first of its kind: scientifically accurate, highly articulated, and highly detailed dinosaur action figures.

Review: Triceratops (2018)(Wild Safari by Safari Ltd)

Review by Faelrin, edited by Suspsy, photos by Lanthanotus
Last year, Safari Ltd unveiled and released a Feathered Tyrannosaurus rex that was widely praised for keeping up with the most recent findings. While Safari already has a Triceratops figure that was released back in 2007, it was starting to show its age, what with many of the recent findings.

Review: Deinocheirus (Wild Safari by Safari Ltd.)

This past year has seen a surprisingly large number of amazing figures produced by Safari Ltd. Of all the new prehistoric figures released for 2017, only a few have yet to be reviewed so far, including the Deinocheirus that will be the subject of this review.
