Well, the new Hammond Collection Allosaurus ought to make many a Jurassic World fan happy.
As you can see, this toy’s got plenty of articulation, good sculpting, and a distinctly scary appearance. Hopefully those leg joints will be nice and stiff.
Now here’s some really cool news: Mattel has made the first ever toy of the North American elasmosaur Styxosaurus!
Apparently this will be in the same Gigantic Trackers wave as the Suchomimus. It is the first Jurassic World plesiosaur to have flippers that move as part of the action feature.
When I reviewed the original Hammond Collection Velociraptor, I was pretty forgiving of it, but truth be told, it has not aged well in my eyes. While I don’t regret purchasing it, I ultimately disliked it enough not to bother with the subsequent Hammond Collection JP3 raptors that featured all the faults of their predecessor.
Someone at Mattel must really like Suchomimus, because here’s the second toy of it for this year.
Unlike the first one, this crocodile mimic will be sold by itself as part of the Gigantic Trackers line. Like the others that have come before it, it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun to play with!
Check this out! Mattel’s Legacy Collection Reimagined Roarin’ Real Feel Carnotaurus (geez, that’s a long title) follows in the footsteps of the Tyrannosaurus rex Off-Road Tracker Pack by replicating the colour scheme of Kenner’s Jurassic Park Series 2 “Demon.”
Not only is it a more accurate representation of Carnotaurus, it also features electronic roaring.
Opinions about Jurassic World: Dominion and its Giganotosaurus design aside, if you wanted a decent action figure of this animal upon the film’s release, you were SOL. Mattel only released one Giganotosaurus in the mainline and although it had some cool action features it resembled the animal in the movie about as much as the movie animal resembled the real Giganotosaurus.
Here’s a pretty nifty new addition to the Jurassic Park ’93 Classic series: the Tyrannosaurus rex Off-Road Tracker Pack.
As you can plainly see, this latest tyrant lizard has a noticeably unique head sculpt. Between that and the colour scheme, it’s clearly a homage to the Jurassic Park Series 2 Young T.
For this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Mattel is offering up an exclusive set featuring the late music legend and philanthropist Jimmy Buffett, who had a very brief cameo in Jurassic World.
As you can see, the set consists of Buffett’s character, two margaritas, three miniature Dimorphodons with display rods, and a glass-shaped stand.
