This review is of a resin model my parents bought me at the Smithsonian back in 2000, my very first ever woolly mammoth toy! I remember clutching her lovingly in the cafeteria as we chowed down on pizza in the museum restaurant.

An updated version of the appealing Wild Republic Woolly Mammoth (and my favorite stuffed animal) is finally here! I like to call this mammoth “Ellie,” due to her girlish expression and appearance (this was also the name I gave to my first one).

As 2018 has ended now, I decided to review a figure from a prehistoric line that seems to have ended too: Bullyland. Let me know in the comments section if I am wrong.

“Compliments of the season to you, fellow dinosaur lovers! Yes, it is us once again, Dr. Bella Bricking and Beth Buildit. We’ve certainly had quite the busy year thanks to the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets! But for this review, we’re leaving all that behind and heading off on a completely different expedition!

My old Ellie has gotten rather old and tired, so I looked up “Wild Republic Mammoth” on eBay hoping to find the same one again so I could still sleep with her. Fortunately, finding her again was not hard.

Review: Prehistoric Animals (Panini, review part 2)

Panini prehistoric animals and dinosaur toys

In part 1 of this review we looked at 12 dinosaur toys (and one pterosaur) from Panini’s Prehistoric Animals line. In part 2 we pick up where we left off to complete the full set of 24 toys.

Figure numbers 13 to 15 are a trio of marine reptiles, and their dark blue colour works very well for aquatic animals.

Today, our little furry friend decided that he missed his Ice Age co-stars and so he decided to travel back to that time and meet up with one of the big stars!
Love it or not, you have to admire the level of popularity and recognition that the woolly mammoth have achieved in the toy industry as well as popular culture.

Should you not mind having the odd mammal or two in your dinosaur collection, you’d probably go for a woolly mammoth and maybe a sabertooth for starters. This toy here is not an essential mammoth in that case; if you rated prehistoric figures in a celebrity style scale we are not talking A-lister here.

Review: Woolly Mammoth (“Winston” by Jellycat)

Jellycat is a highly successful maker of delightfully soft and cuddly plush animals that are especially appealing to babies and toddlers. Most of these critters consist of the usual cuties: puppies, kittens, bunnies, monkeys, etc, but there are also a number of prehistoric characters.

Review: Mammoth Skeleton Tent with Cavemen (Playmobil)

4.9 (7 votes)
As storm clouds gather overhead, a trio of human hunters work quickly to finish erecting their shelter. Fortunately, the mammoth that they recently killed and butchered has provided far more than just food. Its large, sturdy bones form an effective structure while its thick fur hide acts as a waterproof covering.

This is a review of my most prized possession, the original woolly mammoth Cuddlekin by Wild Republic, released back in 2007. It is not the same as the more recent versions that have already been reviewed, which come in 40-inch, 12-inch, and 8-inch sizes.

Meet Ellie, the favourite of favourites in my whole dinosaur collection! I was so inspired by her that I even draw a cartoon called “Skinny and Ellie,” featuring a caricature of her. Ellie is a Wild Republic woolly mammoth, also known as a Cuddlekin.
