Deinonychus was perhaps the most noticeable omission from the Beasts of the Mesozoic Raptor Series, but it will soon be available in all its feathery glory! Check out these images of the 1/18 scale painted prototype.

The terrible claw never looked better. It is slated for release this coming October.

Calling this a 2024 release is admittedly iffy, as 2025 is probably more likely, but anyway, here’s the painted prototype of the Creative Beast/Eons 1/18 scale woolly mammoth calf!

I really like how many different colours have gone into this furry little pachyderm, as woolly mammoth figures have historically been pretty bland in terms of colouration.

Here are some of the images Creative Beast recently posted of the paint sample for their upcoming Beasts of the Mesozoic Utahraptor. The current projected due date for this big boy is sometime in June.

Whoever claims that feathered dinosaurs aren’t impressive or intimidating is clearly talking through their hat, as my dear old grandmother used to say.

The other big and bird-like boy slated for release from Creative Beast Studio this June is the Beasts of the Mesozoic Achillobator!

This will be the very first toy of the giant Mongolian dromaeosaur. The condor-inspired colour scheme certainly adds to its menacing appearance.

And don’t forget that the armour can be reconfigured into a relentless Razorhead robot!

Also recently released are these images of the painted prototype of the Beasts of the Mesozoic Dilophosaurus.

Here is the painted prototype of the 1/18 scale Beasts of the Mesozoic Allosaurus fragilis by Matt Holt.

This is definitely going to be one of the best Allosaurus figures yet. Everything about it looks terrific.

And here’s a small but exciting update for Creative Beast and Eons’ Prehistoric Elephants series: a breakdown of the parts and articulation of the adult woolly mammoth by Ross Persichetti.

Well, that was quick. Here’s the painted prototype of the Creative Beast/Eons Prehistoric Elephants Gomphotherium!

Back when I was a child, prehistory books depicted Gomphotherium with brown fur all over. It seems a little less unusual now.

And check out these instructions for the Cyberzoic Razorhound armour that goes with the Achillobator.

The fourth figure for the Creative Beast/Eons Prehistoric Elephants line is none other than the famous “shovel tusker” Platybelodon! Here’s the concept art by Ross Persichetti.

And here’s the unpainted prototype for the actual figure. Looks fantastic!

And check out the 1/12 melanistic Smilodon for the Beasts of the Cenozoic series.

Review: Utahceratops (Beasts of the Mesozoic by Creative Beast Studio)

4.9 (56 votes)

Utahceratops gettyi was a fairly large chasmosaurine ceratopsian that grew to a length of about seven metres and a mass of over two tons. As its name suggests, it was discovered in Utah, in the fossil-rich Kaiparowits Formation of the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument. In 2017, the monument’s size was reduced by half in order to allow gas and oil and mining companies to exploit it, which would have destroyed countless fossils in the process.
