Hadrosaurs may not be as exciting as toothy theropods, as elaborately ornamented as ceratopsians, or as grand in size as sauropods, but I’ve always had a fondness for the “duck-bills”. There’s a certain charm in their unique shape and distinctive crests; I like to imagine them peacefully grazing in the prehistoric swamps, trumpeting to their family members. Parasaurolophus is the most easily recognized of all hadrosaurs, and is the star of todays review!

Her limbs paddling, her tail undulating, her great sail cutting through the water like a razor blade, the angler pursues her quarry. Although she cannot see in the murky water, her narrow snout contains pressure sensors that detect the slightest movement. A quick jerk of her neck, a snap of her jaws, and a fat coelacanth is caught.

Released in 1978 the Invicta Pteranodon has a very vintage look to it, almost like something out of a Ray Harryhausen picture. Unlike Harryhausen’s stop motion marvels this Pteranodon doesn’t have bat wings though, which is a relief. But much like bats, we know that pterosaurs adopted a similar posture when on all fours, with the wings folded and tucked back.
Review: Sauron (Primal Rage by Playmates)

Primal Rage was one of the more unique fighting games to hit arcades back in 1994. Instead of martial arts warriors, its cast consisted of godlike prehistoric beasts waging a savage battle for control of the planet. By far my favourite character, the one which I mastered the game with, was Sauron, the God of Hunger.

The wait is finally over folks, and the triumphant return of Battat is underway. Late last summer we were both shocked and thrilled to learn that Battat was back with a new series of dinosaur figures sculpted by Dan LoRusso for the Terra line, exclusive to Target stores in the United States.

Discovered on the Isle of Wight, UK, Neovenator was one of Europe’s deadliest dinosaurs, preying on the likes of Hypsilophodon and Iguanodon.
CollectA’s first stab at Neovenator was a Standard class toy, and from the photos I’ve seen, it was nothing to write home about.

Review: Tyrannosaurus rex (Feathered Deluxe by CollectA)

Having gorged himself on flesh and liver of hadrosaur, the sovereign rises to his full height. He raises his fiery red crest, opens his blood-streaked jaws, and bellows a warning to the landscape. He then retreats to a shady grove a short distance away.

Creative Beast offers a wide selection of interesting model resin kits in addition to a poseable Velociraptor and Oviraptor available in various plastics at 1/12th scale. I ordered the basic raptor, because I was enchanted with idea of being able to use it as a drawing maquette, but I also requested the Oviraptor tail and wing because they fit my personal aesthetic for how raptors should look.
Creative Beast offers a wide selection of interesting model resin kits in addition to a poseable Velociraptor and Oviraptor available in various plastics at 1/12th scale.
