I guess there`s not much to say about the “Lion of the Jurassic” that hasn`t been covered in one or more of the three dozen reviews to this species before, so let´s get straight to the figure.

Some of those who are interested in dinosaurs may have kept some as pets at one point. In my case, it was budgerigars which lived at my grandparents’ house when I was a small child.

Adventure Force, from what I can gather, is a Walmart brand that mostly sells repackaged knockoff NERF guns, so I didn’t expect much quality from their toys. The other Adventure Force animals I saw alongside this one were generic 80s-style tripodal dinosaur models that they’ve apparently acquired the rights to, and a tube that I couldn’t get a good look into but appeared to mostly be unique contents, if somewhat simple.

To many in the general population (for want of a better description) and particularly in popular culture, the appearance of Apatosaurus, though in these terms usually known as Brontosaurus, is almost synonymous with the word ‘dinosaur.’ So many comics, cartoons, and iconic graphics in a variety of applications need only to use a silhouette of this animal to signify dinosaurs, no caption needed.

Dinosaur figures come in all sizes but there’s one animal that, more often than not, will get you a pretty decent-sized, if not quite often oversized piece of plastic in its representation, and that is Brachiosaurus.

I don’t own all the Xtractaurs, and I’m not sure if anyone does, but I feel I’ve been able to amass enough to give a decent overview of the series. Anyone who wants to review an individual Xtractaur for the Dinosaur Toy Blog, included in this review or otherwise, has my blessing.

Today’s review is a 2020 Schleich figure that I knew about since 2016. The animal is Plesiosaurus, a long-necked predator that lends its name to a whole Order of marine reptiles that lived from the Early Jurassic all the way up to the Late Cretaceous.
Every now and again, something rather interesting pops up that you wouldn’t expect to be as good as you’d think. The toy sets you would see at supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl, often seen as cheap item makers, having something worth getting. Here, we examine the Joy City line on prehistoric animals, a counterpoint to there Dinosaur wave, which seems more typical chinasaur.

Monster In My Pocket was a line of small collectible figures in bright colours, all depicting monsters of some kind. The line seems to have had several series consisting of or including prehistoric animals, and the one here, the Apatosaurus, is from Series 6, which appears to have been released in 1993, during the “Dinomania” craze that followed in Jurassic Park‘s wake.

If you had to ask me what my favorite prehistoric marine reptiles are, there’s probably only about a handful or two of them compared to the dinosaurs that they shared the Mesozoic with (and which they often are assumed to be, unfortunately).
As far as my “knowledge” goes, Horizon was a small model making company of Chinese origin located in California. It ceased production in the late 90`s or early 2000´s and was famous for making high detailed models of movie characters, like Terminator, Robocop, classic monsters or Jurassic Park.
One day while driving to work, I passed a billboard that had Blue on it and saw that it was an advertisement for Jurassic World live Tour. I didn’t know what it was but as my kids are big Jurassic Park/World fans, I decided it might be worth going to.
