By and large the Snap Squad toys by Mattel have been frustratingly difficult to find. Nearly a year ago I managed to find a few at Wal-Mart, and foolishly didn’t buy them all. That was the first time I ever saw them “in the wild” and I wouldn’t see them again until April 2020, when for some reason they showed up at Aldi of all places.

More Mosasaurus toys have been produced in the 8 years since Jurassic World than in the entire previous history of the toy industry. The majority of those toys have been influenced by the JW design, with spikes all over the back, cavities all over the head, and an old-fashioned tail.

As we have already seen in previous reviews, Mattel has vastly succeeded where Hasbro failed.

My next Recur review will be that colossal tyrant of the deep, Mosasaurus hoffmannii. In stark contrast to its terrestrial counterpart, T. rex, Mosasaurus had both poor binocular vision and a poor sense of smell. This means that it probably restricted its hunting to the ocean surface, where it would have been easier to locate prey.

Contrary to its appearance in Jurassic World, Mosasaurus was not a blue whale-sized leviathan capable of effortlessly dragging giant genetic freaks to a watery grave. Still, at an estimated 60 feet in length, it was definitely one of the largest and deadliest marine predators of all time.

With Mattel taking over the Jurassic World franchise from Hasbro, it has produced better toys when you compare the two lines. As for the Imaginext vs the Playschool Heroes Jurassic World lines they come across much closer in quality and style. With their ridiculous big feet to aid in stability, and the simple, yet overdone accessories the Imaginext series is intended for preschoolers.

The sky is clear and boundless blue; it is a beautiful 80 degrees, a nice day to be at the park. The water is a beautiful shade of blue green, there is barely a ripple across the calm lagoon. There is something dangerous roaming in the depth of the waters, but not a trace of it is seen.

Today we’ll be looking at Prehistoric Tube A, which contains no less than ten figures of some of the most popular dinosaurs and other extinct animals. The tube itself measures 27 cm long, is made of transparent hard plastic, opens like a chest, and fastens shut securely with a clasp.

If you had to ask me what my favorite scene in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is, it would easily be the opening sequence. So once I heard that Mattel was in fact releasing a set based upon that scene, I knew I had to have it, once it was finally released.
