Review: Yangchuanosaurus (Dapeng) (Prehistoric Animal Models by PNSO)

4.7 (43 votes)

With 47 votes the PNSO Saurophaganax is poised to win the prestigious title of figure of the year on the Dinosaur Toy Forum’s Top 10 of 2023 poll. And rightly so, it’s a fantastic figure. One of the best theropod models I’ve ever seen, and quite possibly the best “Allosaurus” ever.

Review: Lystrosaurus (Jurassic World: Dominion, Captivz by ToyMonster)

Captivz Lystrosaurus, left side.

4.1 (28 votes)

One of the positive outcomes from the release of Jurassic World: Dominion was its launching of the generally obscure Lystrosaurus to stardom.  Although relegated to what was basically a cameo appearance in the film it was enough to give the little synapsid far more public attention than it would have otherwise received.

Review: Genyodectes (Jurassic World: Dominion, Extreme Damage by Mattel)

3 (21 votes)

Genyodectes serus (Greek for “late jaw bite”) is a genus of theropod belonging to the Ceratosauridae family and lived in South America during the early Cretaceous. It is only known from an incomplete snout described by Sir Arthur Woodward in 1901. Genyodectes was the second dinosaur ever discovered in South America and despite its fragmentary nature, would remain the most complete theropod known from South America until the 1970’s.

Review: Tuojiangosaurus (Qichuan) (Prehistoric Animal Models by PNSO)

4.3 (28 votes)

For the last several months the Chinese company PNSO (Peking Natural Science-art Organization) has delivered upon us a glut of prehistoric animal figures that have shaken the fountain of our hobby and truly changed the game, or such is my opinion anyway. These figures are mostly in PNSO’s mid-range size of figures that retail for $20-30 and at this point I’ve frankly lost count of how many have actually been released.
