Monoclonius was always known as a sort of “little brother” to Triceratops, characterized by its short frill and singular nose horn.  Sadly for it, like several other dinosaurs I remember growing up with like Trachodon and Brontosaurus, it’s no longer believed to be a valid genus of dinosaur.

Dino riders was a major line for many, and has influenced pop culture and other dino lines. And with the Kickstater for David Silva’s Beasts of the Mesozoic, the exclusive brings this back with this homage to the classic line: Monoclonius.

[In a rare twist of fate, the toy I wrote about for this review was simultaneously being reviewed by someone else. Since I had already finished writing this review and taking its pictures, and because I worked hard on it, I’m posting it anyway.

If there’s one group of dinosaurs that have never before graced a child’s toy box then it would almost certainly be the alvarezsaurids. Alvarezsaurids are small, maniraptoran dinosaurs whose fossils were found in North and South America, as well as Asia. These dinosaurs had long legs and necks, and were probably feathered, but the main characteristic that sets most of these particular dinosaurs apart, is their insanely tiny arms, which end in a single clawed digit.

David Silva, the sculptor behind the Creative Beast line of model kits, ran a Kickstarter campaign in April 2016 to produce the Beasts of the Mesozoic “Raptor” Series, a range of large-scale dromaeosaurid action figures that he strove to make accurate, detailed, and posable.

Hello, and welcome to another EmperorDinobot review! Today we shall be looking at one of Jurassic Park: Dominion‘s new dinosaur figures from Mattel, Moros intrepidus!

I must admit, I knew almost nothing about Moros going into this review, and I do wish to thank Mattel for producing figures of animals I had rarely heard of.

Review by Dan Liebman – Dan’s Dinosaurs
Regular visitors to the DinoToyBlog know that I enjoy reviewing every new piece in this series, but I really wanted our resident paleontologist Dr. Adam Stuart Smith to have a go at this one; truly, I doubt there would be anyone better suited to this task.

If you like retro marine reptiles, this one’s for you. The Carnegie Collection Mosasaurus is clearly based on some archaic paleoart, so it really shouldn’t be taken too seriously – if you try to focus on every wrong aspect with this figure surely you will give yourself a headache!

Mosasaurus has finally made it to the big screen in Jurassic World and while it might not be scientific accurate, if you look at it in terms of the cool factor, one could argue that it was the star of the film. Literally and figuratively it is involved in the biggest splashes of action during its screen time.
