Released in 1997, alongside The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Kenner’s Dino Damage Medical Center playset featured my personal favorite dinosaur, Allosaurus. This is one of my favorite Allosaurus toys.

While Allosaurus has been a long time favorite among Jurassic theropods there has been a growing fan base for the large megalosaurid genus, Torvosaurus. The genus has now become popular enough that whenever wish list discussions about what toy makers should release next come up it’s always mentioned.

Before I get on with this review I would just like to mention that a couple days ago, July 16th 2016, was my five year anniversary on the Dinosaur Toy Blog. On that day five years ago my review for the AAA woolly rhinoceros was posted by blog owner Dr.

In my desperation to review a dinosaur model I found something I can review that technically may have been reviewed here already, sort of. In 2010 Marc (Horridus) reviewed the Kenner Jurassic Park Velociraptor for the blog. And yes, this is indeed the same toy that he reviewed.

In recent years, the pantheon of ornithomimosaur figures has expanded more than ever before. Though still an underrepresented family of dinosaurs, these omnivorous/herbivorous theropods are very interesting oddities that only a few companies have tried to represent.

Well, here we are at last, dear friends. After nearly two years of exploring the prehistoric plastic worlds of CollectA, Papo, Safari, Kenner, Lego, Playmobil, and various other companies, we’ve arrived at my 100th review for the Dinosaur Toy Blog! I’ve saved the biggest item in my collection for this very special occasion: the Aurora Prehistoric Scenes Tyrannosaurus rex!

Last time I did a review of a Geoworld product, I said that the company likes to put feathers only on species that are known to have feathers in the fossils. Well, unfortunately I should’ve done more research (and a little more glancing at my collection) because that was not the case.

According to the dinosaur books I read when I was a child, Tyrannosaurus rex was the ultimate bane of the Cretaceous. Every other dinosaur had best fled to save its poor hide once the king of tyrants strolled by.
