It pains me to admit this, friends, but the truth is that Allosaurus never made much of an impact on me when I was younger. I had many books on the subject of dinosaurs, (and other prehistoric animals™) but most of those seemed unsure of what to do with this particular beast.
When ever I hear the theme from Jurassic Park it send chills down my spine and puts a smile on my face. That is the power of music combined with the nostalgic feelings that I have for the original Jurassic Park movie. Ever since the original movie release, the franchises movies, music, and toys have had there ups and downs.
At a whopping 26 inches long, Sideshow’s latest Dinosauria diorama is their largest piece yet (though it will be unseated from this position when their Spinosaurus arrives in winter). Tom Gilliland collaborated with a large team of artists, including such greats as Steve Riojas, David Krentz, and Jorge Blanco, on what he considers to be his favorite piece in the line.

While Jurassic World popularized the idea of genetically modified dinosaur hybrids, Kenner beat them to the idea over 17 years prior with the Jurassic Park: Chaos Effect line, a mix of crazy hybrids and similarly crazy repaints of old figures.
Anchiornis huxleyi was only described a decade ago and yet has gone on to become one of the most well understood dinosaur species in recent memory. Hundreds of exceptionally well preserved fossils of this late Jurassic paravian have been found in the bone beds of Liaoning, China.
Of all the product lines offered by stalwart manufacturer Safari Ltd, the “Toob®” line gives them the freest rein to explore unusual taxa. I’m personally fondest of the Toobs that furnish small versions of small animals that might scale well with Safari’s full-size figurines. We’ve reviewed some of their most interesting Toobs featuring “alive” animals here, here, here, here, and here.
Archaeopteryx rounds out Papo’s prehistoric assortment for 2014 and it does seem fitting that their first feathered dinosaur should be the legendary Ancient Wing itself.
Our recent review of the 2017 Bullyland Archaeopteryx prompted me to search through the Dinotoyblog archives to compare the new version with the old…only to discover that we’ve never reviewed the original Bullyland Museum Line Archaeopteryx. That immediately helped me settle on which figure to review next.

Back in my review of the Bullyland Smilodon, I had mentioned that Bullyland had released nothing special or new for 2017, just resculpts of their past Triceratops and Archaeopteryx models. And for 2018, unless I am mistaken, Bullyland has released nothing, which is disappointing.
I always like it when companies try out species that have never been made into figures before, as it gives people a chance to learn about new species and expand their knowledge. I have stated many times that I love the DinoWaurs Survival for this and continue to do too.
