After six years of waiting, Safari Ltd. has finally made a new sauropod for the Wild Safari Collection. Sauropods are the one thing I really wish Safari made more of, as the collection only had three of them, and they were gems among the rest of the collection.

Review: Apatosaurus baby (Carnegie Collection by Safari Ltd.)

Apatosaurus was a large, robust, long-necked, small headed sauropod that lived 152-151 million years ago. When the Safari Carnegie line began in 1989 the adult and baby were part of the original line up, and has been part of the collection until the cancellation of the line in 2015.

With an estimated length of over 30 metres and a weight of 70 to 90 tons, Argentinosaurus was definitely one of the biggest dinosaurs, although it remains unclear as to whether or not it was *the* biggest.
CollectA’s 2012 Argentinosaurus stands 18 cm tall and measures 22 cm long.

If one were to compile a top ten list of unusual sauropods, Amargasaurus would have to be on it. At only 9 or 10 metres in length, it was a far cry from colossal relatives like Argentinosaurus and Dreadnoughtus.

Inpro Brontosaurus is a classic figure representing an iconic dinosaur, Brontosaurus. Back in 1972, English company Inpro produced a line of Prehistoric toys, among others amazingly including one of the rare representations of Heterodontosaurus as a figure. More information is available here .

Well everyone, it’s time for another Schleich World of History review. This  one will cover the 2012 Brachiosaurus. If you have been following my other WoH reviews, you know that 2012 was the year Schleich revamped and renamed their dinosaur line, making smaller versions of models they had made previously, and in some cases, giving them articulated jaws.

Review: Brachiosaurus (Playmobil)

The ground is shaking. Is it an earthquake? No, it’s just Brachiosaurus! This gentle giant is hungry and looking for his favourite fruit tree.
Not surprisingly, the Brachiosaurus is HUGE. It stands nearly 27 cm tall and measures 51 cm long, making it the largest animal figure in any Playmobil line.

Apatosaurus, with its great size, great neck, and even greater tail, is the quintessential sauropod. Along with Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus rex, it is one of those iconic dinosaurs that everyone recognizes instantly.

I have heard it said that good things come in small packages, and the 2008 CollectA‘s Amargasaurus is certainly a diminutive figure. This was CollectA’s first attempt at the highly distinguishable sauropod, before releasing a deluxe figure a few years later.
