Review: Mighty Dinosaurs (Creator by Lego)

4.3 (11 votes)
“Season’s Greetings, fellow dinosaur lovers! Yes, it is I, Dr. Bella Bricking, enjoying another holiday season! And where would I be without my trusty and beloved companion, Beth Buildit?”
“I can’t believe I let you talk me into wearing this hat, Doc.”

“Now, now, no humbugs, Beth!

Before this year concludes, I figured it would be best to review the very last large dinosaur model that has been released by Schleich as part of their “First Giants” sub-line made specifically for 2016.

Review: Microraptor (Wild Safari by Safari Ltd)

Now available from Amazon.com here.
Microraptor is a relatively recent discovery, but it has quickly become very popular with dinosaur enthusiasts. And why not? It’s one of the best known dromaeosaurs, with a whopping 300 or so fossil specimens spread out globally in various museums.

Review: Tyrannosaurus (Field Museum Mold-A-Rama)

Genus: Brand: Classification: , Age: Type: ,

Having technically already been reviewed there really isn’t much new to say about this one. DTF member “Foxilized” reviewed the original back in 2010. For the sake of consistency though I feel compelled to share my thoughts too, I’ve been reviewing all of the current Field Museum Mold-A-Rama figures and it would feel strange not including this one.

Review: Spinosaurus and Velociraptor (Jurassic Park 2009 by Hasbro)

2.1 (11 votes)
Nearly all of the Jurassic Park 2009 toys were repaints of older toys save for the Allosaurus and the Pachyrhinosaurus. These included the miniature two-packs such as this one, containing hatchling versions of the famous Spinosaurus and Velociraptor.

When Sideshow Collectibles revealed their Brachiosaurus hatchling in 2009, it might have inspired REBOR to create their own take on a hatching dinosaur. The REBOR Club Selection line features only limited edition models numbering about 1000 worldwide.

Review: Prehistoric Tube B (CollectA)

3.9 (15 votes)
Time again to downsize with CollectA’s second tube collection. Like the previous set I reviewed, this one came out in late 2015 and contains no fewer than ten teeny toy dinosaurs and other prehistoric monsters, a couple of them making their debut with CollectA.

Review: Beibeilong “Baby Louie” (Dino Discoveries by Safari Ltd)

Review and Photographs by Quentin Brendel (aka Pachyrhinosaurus), edited by Suspsy
In yet another museum partnership, Safari Ltd produced a model of the dinosaur embryo known as “Baby Louie” for the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. It’s believed that the dinosaur itself was an oviraptorid, however, not much has been published on it because the fossil was originally smuggled out of China and was in the hands of a private collector.

Review: Majungasaurus (Age of the Dinosaurs by PNSO)

Majungasaurus was an abelisaur, closely related to Carnotaurus and Rajasaurus. One of the very last dinosaurs to roam the planet, it was the feared and undisputed ruler of the island of Madagascar.

Here’s Seia, the little Majungasaurus from PNSO.
