After the Lion of the Jurassic, allow me to introduce you one of its coevals, potential prey and  contender in popularity: Stegosaurus.

Ever since it’s discovery by Othniel Charles Marsh during the infamous Bone Wars, Stegosaurus gained a lot of attention and became one of the most popular dinosaur world wide.

In 1978 Franz Gruß, a German sculptor situated in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), began to build life size reconstructions of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals in his private garden in Großwelka, Sachsen. The garden was open to the public and soon developed to a tourist attraction.

Review: Stegosaurus (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Action Attack by Mattel)

3.7 (15 votes)
As you all know by now, The Jurassic World toys by Hasbro were a bust. Speaking personally, I didn’t buy a single Hasbro Jurassic World toy. I wanted to, but they utterly failed to impress. That’s all ancient history now that Mattel holds the Jurassic World license.

Review: Mini Figures Collection (Battat)

Review and photos by Bokisaurus, edited by Suspsy
The Battat line of 1:40 scale dinosaurs is so famous that it needs little introduction. Rightly so, as these figures are some of the best representation of dinosaurs in toy form. In fact, even after 20+ years, the line is still is considered one of the best.

Review: Discover Dinosaurs: Dino Jurassic Vol. 3 (Colorata)

3.9 (8 votes)
With Colorata’s new Paleozoic collection out in 2018, I think I’m overdue on this look at one of their earlier prehistoric sets: Volume 3 of their dinosaur series. Although this set has its share of flaws, Colorata’s 3rd dinosaur volume – and first focused on Jurassic fauna – still offers plenty for dino fans to appreciate.

Review: Stegosaurus (Scout Series ‘Melon’ by REBOR)

Genus: Brand: Classification: Age: Type:

4.7 (15 votes)
Stegosaurus is one of the most popular and recognizable dinosaurs and almost without any exception any given toy company or producer of prehistoric creatures has one or more of them in their line up. But as same as for other species, almost no company offers reconstructions of juvenile versions of this spectacular species.

This is my first review for the Dinosaur Toy Blog. Stegosaurus is among my favorite dinosaurs and I have plenty of Stegosaurus figures/toys (see group photo below). This is why I chose this charming prehistoric plush toy for my first review.

Review: Stegosaurus (Mini)(Skeleflex by Wild Planet)

Despite its immense fame and popularity, there are not very many complete specimens of Stegosaurus. Most of the skeletons you see in museums are actually composites of multiple animals. The most intact one is currently “Sophie,” a young adult that resides in the Natural History Museum in London, U.K.
