Review: Dilophosaurus (Nature World by Boley)

Review and photos by Bryan Divers, edited by Suspsy
Dilophosaurus has become very well known as a result of its appearance in Jurassic Park, where it approaches the would-be burglar Dennis Nedry in a friendly manner, but then becomes angry and spits venom at him, much like a modern cobra.

Review: Gallimimus (Jurassic Park by Dakin)

We’re finally past the halfway point in our effort to review all the little “Jurassic Park” dinosaurs put out by Dakin back in 1992, with today’s review concerning one of their better efforts; the Gallimimus. The Dakin line of “Jurassic Park” dinosaurs consist of 6 dinosaurs in total, representing the dinosaurs of the original film.

Review: Spinosaurus (Tsukuda Hobby Collection)

3.5 (4 votes)
Review and photos by docronnie, edited by Suspsy
Like all Tsukuda figures from the standard 13 piece set in the 1980s’, this Spinosaurus is made of hollow vinyl plastic in a multi-piece construction moulded into a single piece; hence the evident appearance of seams along the head, extremities, and tail.

Review: Acrocanthosaurus Skeleton (Kaiyodo Dinotales Series 3)

Genus: Brand: Classification: , Age: Type: ,

4.5 (10 votes)
While most of us prefer to collect dinosaur figures representing living animals there is something to be said about skeletal reconstructions as well. After all, we don’t really know what most dinosaurs looked like, almost everything we know about them comes from the ancient bones we’ve dug up and reassembled.

Review: Feathered Dinosaurs Premium Box by Colorata

4.7 (23 votes)
This year has seen toy companies embrace feathered dinosaurs like never before, if not always with perfect execution. Accuracy stalwarts like Safari Ltd and especially Kaiyodo have been giving us feathered dinosaurs for years, but now even Papo and Schleich are getting on the plumage train.

Review: Indominus Rex (Jurassic World Hybrids by Hasbro)

Well, thanks to the Indominus Rex’s unfortunate popularity with the current generation, Hasbro thought it would be a good idea to release an entire line dedicated to fully fictional dinosaurs, complete with ridiculous designs made to make the most rambunctious of children shout out the word “BADASS” before getting reprimanded by their parents for cursing.

Review: Tyrannosaurus (Dinotales Series 5 by Kaiyodo)

Genus: Brand: Classification: , Age: Type:

4 (7 votes)
With its head tilted back and puny arms stretched out the Kaiyodo Dinotales series 5 Tyrannosaurus presents the genus in a unique posture not often depicted in the mass market. This animal clearly has something to say; perhaps he’s attempting to impress a mate or reaffirming his dominance.

Review: Eotyrannus (CollectA)

Genus: Brand: Classification: , Age: Type:

1.7 (17 votes)
Eotyrannus, the “dawn tyrant,” was discovered in the fossil-rich Wessex Formation on the Isle of Wight, UK. It is one of the earliest known tyrannosaurs, and while it was a far cry from the likes of Tyrannosaurus rex, Tarbosaurus, and Zhuchengtyrannus, it must have been a formidable predator in its own right.

Any review of a recent CollectA figure is likely to point out the dramatic increase in quality that the company has undertaken within the past few years–and rightly so. Also of note, however, is a more gradual improvement since then.

Review: Deinonychus (Paleo-Creatures by Jesus Toledo)

Back in 2014, I was looking for a second person to help me out in creating figurines of my own, and I eventually found out about Dinotoyforum member Jesus Toledo AKA Jetoar’s creations. So I thought I would commission him to do a one of a kind line of models for me in a 1:32 scale.

Review: Dinosaur Advent Calendar 2016 (Schleich)

3.1 (10 votes)
Review and photos by Tim Sosa
This year Schleich followed in the footsteps of companies like Lego and Playmobil in offering an advent calendar, but this one is dinosaur-themed! 24 days of dinosaur goodies sounds pretty attractive, so I bit the bullet and picked one up.
