North America in the late Cretaceous was home to some of the most famous and iconic dinosaurs. Here, in the vast landscape, huge herd of the most famous ceratopsian, Triceratops, congregated in their annual mating season.Triceratops in huge numbers dominated the landscape as other dinosaur gave way, perhaps overwhelmed by the shear number of the loud and boisterous groups.

Review: Triceratops with Stegosaurus (Jurassic World Hero Mashers by Hasbro)

Triceratops, with its huge horned head, and Stegosaurus, with its thorny thagomizer, are something of an armoured tag team in dinosaur pop culture, bravely standing together against Tyrannosaurus rex, Allosaurus, and all the other meat eaters.

Troodon is an animal that everyone with more than a passing interest in dinosaurs knows about but few people count among their favorites. It’s featured prominently in books and documentaries due mostly for its large brain to body ratio but is otherwise typically regarded as a small, underwhelming dinosaur; similar to dromaeosaurs but not quite as cool and too small to be scary.

Alas, poor Troodon. Beginning in the late 1980s and continuing all the way into the 2010s, it was widely hailed as the smartest dinosaur of them all. It became a fixture of books, documentaries, and films in which it was frequently depicted as a swift, graceful, big-eyed predator that hunted down small mammals in the night.

Time to look at another one of the Walking with Dinosaurs the Movie 3D action figures, this time, Troodon. Previously we have reviewed the standard sized Gorgon and standard sized Patchi. Some of these standard-sized action figures are available in multi packs, but the Troodon figure is only available separately.

Once upon a time, there was a hadrosaur that was believed to have had a head crest that resembled that of the mythical unicorn. So unique was this head crest that it was affectionately dubbed the unicorn dinosaur and would be a source of inspiration for countless artist worldwide for decades.

Available from Amazon.com here.
Tsintaosaurus was a duck-billed dinosaur, or hadrosaur, that lived in China about 84 to 71 million years ago.  Like many Lambeosaurs, Tsintaosaurus is believed to have sported a fancy crest on its head.  In this case, the crest is a skinny rod that stuck out above of the dinosaur’s face much like a mythical unicorn’s horn.

Review: Tsintaosaurus (No company, exclusive to the Museum Of Natural History in Basel, Switzerland)

Tsintaosaurus is a dinosaur that has not been reconstructed as a figure very often. To be honest, I do not even know of one company that has produced it, maybe our readers know more?
However, the Tsintaosaurus of this review was not produced by a special company but is an exclusive version apparently produced for the Museum Of Natural History in Basel, Switzerland.
