As a huge fan of ornithopods I was delighted when Papo unveiled my favourite of all for their 2018 collection, the Iguanodon. One of my happiest experiences was standing in awe of the skeletal mount in the NHM and marvelling at the sheer presence and size of this creature.

Review: Edaphosaurus (Nature World by Boley)

Discovered by the legendary paleontologist Edward Drinker Cope during the famous Bone Wars of the late 1800s’, Edaphosaurus was the herbivorous counterpart to Dimetrodon during the Early Permian. It can easily be distinguished from its deadly cousin by a much smaller head, a wider gut, and an array of supporting crossbars on its fin.

Archaeopteryx Bullyland toy (version 1)

Our recent review of the 2017 Bullyland Archaeopteryx prompted me to search through the Dinotoyblog archives to compare the new version with the old…only to discover that we’ve never reviewed the original Bullyland Museum Line Archaeopteryx. That immediately helped me settle on which figure to review next.

Back in my review of the Bullyland Smilodon, I had mentioned that Bullyland had released nothing special or new for 2017, just resculpts of their past Triceratops and Archaeopteryx models. And for 2018, unless I am mistaken, Bullyland has released nothing, which is disappointing.

Review: Carnotaurus (Jasman)

Genus: Brand: Classification: , Age: Type:

2.3 (8 votes)
Described in 1985 the genus Carnotaurus is a relatively new addition to the elite list of truly popular dinosaurs. This abelisaurid is certainly unique enough to warrant notoriety but it has only recently really achieved it. Although toys abounded of the Carnotaurus from the 2000 film Dinosaur as well as some earlier Kenner toys for Jurassic Park, we really didn’t get a good toy of the theropod until 2011 with the re-sculpt of the Carnegie collection model.

Review: Ankylosaurus (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Mini Action Dinos By Mattel)

3.4 (16 votes)
Those who are avid readers of this forum may remember the Jurassic World Mini Dinosaurs from Hasbro that I reviewed back in June of 2015. At the time, I was able to buy all of the little dinosaurs because most of them were available in three packs, with the exception of three.

Look at that, a whole week almost passed us by without one of these Jasman reviews. Well, we can’t let that happen now can we? Next up is the Jasman Spinosaurus, an odd blend of pure awfulness and kitschy appeal. This toy was released in 2001 alongside a sequel to a popular dinosaur franchise that just so happened to feature the same genus that this toy represents.

Review and photos by Paul Carter, edited by Suspsy
Corythosaurus, the “helmet lizard,” is one of the best-known “duck billed” dinosaurs. Discovered in 1914 in North America by Barnum Brown, it is a lambeosaurine hadrosaur and, like its more famous cousin Parasaurolophus, had a crest that possibly served as a sound chamber that gave the animal a distinctive call.

Review and Photographs by Amargasaurus cazaui, edited by Gwangi
Starlux began in France, in 1945, producing small miniatures of soldiers and animals. In the late sixties and early seventies several launches were done of various prehistoric mammals, dinosaurs, and other animals, as well as prehistoric man.

The set is composed of 85 prehistoric animals and 13 prehistoric humans.
